Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

Very convenient for us folks in the Ballton/Virgina Square area. Over-priced, though: like, about $6 for a smoothie that's pretty good, but nothing that special. I can go there for a light dinner for 3 at this, generally, takeout place--they do have a small eating area, though--and easily last down $45. Hmm. The thing that really bothers me, though, is that I once went there with my 11-year-old--we ate there--and he seemed in a huge rush to get out--"Mama, PLEASE, let's go NOW." Because he wasn't eager to point out the issue, I got with it and listened more closely to the loud hip-hop playing, all about fing bes and about how we b**es like some abuse, and worse. I complained [bizarrely nicely]--but I've still heard that rubbish there since then. I go for takeout--without my kiddos--mostly because food's decent, and it's...

*Update: Generally, speaking during less busy times, service is better. The restaurant is clean. The food is better prepared. I would recommend it during those times.

-My rating is based on the service I received during the lunch rush the last two days. I don't eat meat. Yesterday, at lunch, I ordered a Cali Club with no meat. I had no time to eat my sandwich until after I went home. There was no chicken on it, but there was bacon, which I noticed after I swallowed the first bite. I was very upset. Today, I returned to TSC and told the cashier, who couldn't have cared less. Didn't apologize. Nothing. Then over charged my order by $4 because I received the discount text. Smh. I started working in the area 2 weeks ago and have been going there everyday for lunch. I'll be picking...

My experience was related more towards the delivery. The door dash driver was horrible. She was late , irate when she arrived and slammed my food on the counter in the front lobby of my office building. She told me she kept trying to call and text me and left messages but somehow the phone number given on my order was incorrect. I tried calling the store, no manager was available to help me and the staff did not have the correct answers to respond to my questions. This is the second incident that occurred at this location. I will not be ordering again...
