We’ve been to this Vinny’s many many times over the years and it was decent. The original location in Spotsy was always solid, but it’s too far for very casual Italian food, so this one and the one on 610 are the only options for Vinny’s in Stafford. The one on 610 has been a little inconsistent over the years. This one seems to have recently changed hands and it seems they may have gotten taken over by the family that kinda started all the Italian joints around here and they refurbished it and really improved it. The old, dingey Vinny’s that was covered in fruit flies is no more! This is a new joint with nice, new menus (still all the same stuff on the menu), new tables, floors, colors on the walls and those sagging ceiling fans have been replaced too.
The food on the day I visited was really good! I tried a slice of pizza about a year or more ago and it wasn’t very good, but on this trip I decided to try a cheese slice and it was great! Not as good as my favorite pizza, which is J’s (right around the corner in the same plaza), but it was really good! They had a tricolor pasta dish on their lunch specials menu that I tried and it was really good too. The sausage in it was flavorful and the sauce was excellent! I also got a side salad and it was just “ok,” it definitely wasn’t as good as their side salads used to be (not very fresh lettuce).
Overall, I really enjoyed this experience and I...
Read moreProps to Sydney for choosing a great dish when I asked what dish represented Vinny's the best. Rigatoni.
I actually managed to burn my tongue because I was eating it so fast. The Noodles were cooked well. The Orange Sauce paired with it was very well constructed. You could taste the hint of alcohol it was made with. Very creamy and we'll seasoned. The chicken was cut to fit the size of the pasta and looked like it was breaded and browned in a pan. I highly applaud the chef.
The Garlic bread with it was good too. Thick cut. On the spectrum of garlic bread it was definitely more bread than spread. It paired very well with the dish.
The place looked like it was doing well with several people coming through for dine in and pick up every few minutes. It seemed like the locals were already aware it was a good place.
The menus looked very diverse and I plan to return to try more of it.
Overall, It is an amazing place.
I would say it needs to move locations to be more noticeable, and then it would get even more attention. I think it can get lost or passed over since it's next to so many competitors. In fact, if it wasn't for the Tai place next to it being closed today I wouldn't have gone in, but I am VERY...
Read morePretty tasty italian joint. I wasnt expecting a whole lot as it was getting late, i was starving & it was on my way to the nearby hotel. Having been in the service industry for many years, i know how staff typically hates a "close to closing" order...in this case 45 mins before close. That being said; the food was really good, although portions a little on the smallish side. Still great and filling, really didnt need more, but generally speaking, when ordering a calzone or stromboli, i usually expect to only eat half in a sitting. Stromboli wasnt greasy, which was nice and a good proportional mix of meats, veggies & cheeses. Well done. The appetizer seemed to be fairly standard cisco/us foods quality & couldve been considerably warmer, but still good.
Service was great and staff very freindly. Prices are good and fairly commensurate with what you get. Will be dropping by again sometime to try...
