Possibly the worst experience I've ever had at a Wendy's, and one of the worst I've had at a fast food restaurant in general.
We ordered a Grilled Chicken combo and Spicy Chicken combo. They didn't give us our drinks, and we drove away without thinking about it, after being on the road all day. That was our mistake for not noticing, but we realized almost immediately and went back to ask for them. There was no receipt in the bag, but it hadn't been more than 2-3 minutes, so we didn't think it would be a problem. We weren't upset or anything because accidents happen. But when we asked for the drinks, the employee who took our order started screaming at us that we did get our drinks, and jumping around as if she wanted to fight us. Over drinks. It was alarming. Then, another employee tried to claim that they hadn't even sold a grilled chicken sandwich all day, and we were lying about our entire order. The manager asked us what we got and was able to pull it up on the screen and show it to the girl. This seemed to just make her more angry because she continued to yell that we did get our drinks. The manager seemed like he was going to go get them for us, but at that point we were too uncomfortable to stay there, so we left. I've never seen people act that way over two medium drinks. Edit: 3/4/25: Placed a mobile order for a large frosty at 10:40am. They didn't set the machine up, but parked me after already waiting in line for 15 minutes. I waited another 10 minutes, then went inside. Only when they noticed me did they START setting up the machine.
Total wait time: 58 minutes before I requested a refund. I waited patiently, but this is silly. If you know lunch starts at 10:30am, why not prepare for lunch to start at 10:30am? Then you wouldn't have to wait for the machine to freeze up when it could have been freezing up for an entire hour+ prior to lunch service if it had been set up during breakfast. I was polite and way more than patient, but I'm not happy. I even left to pick up food elsewhere and came back and it still wasn't ready. And I got zero offers for a refund before I asked for one or anything else to make up for my wait, and the manager made it seem like I was bothering HIM when he shorted me $1.26 on the refund and I asked for the rest of it back. Read moreWe ordered at 8:14 AM, only customer at the restaurant. Asked to pull forward to stop speed of service clock - 2 sausage, egg & cheese croissants + 1 sausage egg burrito. Young lady taking my order had no energy & was slow (we commented amongst ourselves that she may have been on something).
We waited in a parking spot for 12 mins, I tried to get our order, lobby locked b/c it doesn't open until 9 AM. Saw a total of 5 team mbrs, one either on their phone and/or smoking outside a dining room entrance.
Drove back to the pick-up window & knocked. Our food still had to be made/prepped & the staff was busy stocking for the day. Again, only customers at this time. Left at the 15-min mark w/our food only b/c we went & found a team mbr via the drive-thru. Instead of apologizing, the male team mbr stated we only waiting 10-mins, terrible stance since we had to come back to the drive-thru to get any service. We left at 8:29 AM only b/c we acted.
Zero apology for any team mbr - manipulating speed of service metrics, forgetting about paid customer & not apologizing is NOT the way to secure more...
