Within this space was a place for affordable shops that made it attractive to them. Most likely, there will be higher-end shopping / chain or franchises. • This entire movement is part of the city's plan (intentional or not) to transform Downtown Oceanside into a shopping space for the affluent. This undermines & disregards the average local & military demographics & economy. OCEANSIDE : PROFIT OVER PEOPLE By building these new luxury dwellings, a more affluent (wealthier) population will move in and they will sustain the profits and taxes that the city is looking for. • A brilliant strategy to solve the "local slow season" that businesses suffer from. I assume this happens because the average local spends more than 60% of their wages on housing/rental and this leaves them with less to spend. • GENTRIFICATION Yes. If you don't like it; move. This is the city's mantra.

I really enjoy the DMJ IPA at this brewery. I like this location better than the other one just because of the staff. They are always smiling and friendly. Kris and Alexa run the place beautifully and Alexa is one of my new favorite people. She helped me with my dating app while I enjoyed a cold beverage. The atmosphere is improving by the day. Colab now has darts and giant Jenga outback and it looks like they are putting in an axe throwing stall. They have live music and bingo and trivia. There is a small arcade upstairs for the kids. It's just a five-star establishment all around. Go check it...
