WORKERS ARE THIEVES! When I was a kid and lived in Vista, my grandpa would bring us donuts from this place weekly, so this place had a special place in my heart ever since he passed away. However, I have returned after nearly 15 years and this place is absolutely horrible. The donuts are good, but the workers steal from customers, especially the WOMAN who works there. My girlfriend just recently moved to the area, so I recommended this place to her. On a Friday afternoon earlier this month, my girlfriend and her mom stopped by to grab three donuts. Cost was $6 total for the three. My girlfriend hands the woman behind the counter a $20 bill, and the woman gives my girlfriend $4 back. My girlfriend asked her where the rest of her $10 in change is, and the woman immediately became defensive and went “no look it’s all here see (points at $10 bill that she claims my girlfriend handed her). My girlfriend’s mom also noticed and called her out for it as well but the woman behind the counter kept saying that “it’s all here”, not making any sense and being rude. My girlfriend and her mom let it go because they had somewhere to be, and they will never be returning. There is a Yelp review from 4 years ago by Tom P., who had the SAME EXACT SITUATION, where the SAME WOMAN STOLE his money as well. There is also a review on Google by Justice H. who wrote “lazy workers that always try to giving me back the wrong amount of change”. I have gone back three times since my girlfriend last went, hoping to see the woman and catch her in the act of shorting me of my change on camera, but whenever I went there it would always be the older man, who has always been nice. HOWEVER, today I went back and he was chatting me up about my SDSU shirt as he was grabbing my change, and he gave me $1 short of what I was owed. He started walking away until he saw that I was looking at the quarters he gave me without leaving, when he goes oh oh you gave me $5, then opens the register and gives me my $1. A lot smaller scale than what happened to Tom P. 4 years ago and my girlfriend earlier this month, but this shows that these people are aware of what they are doing, prey on people that they do not see often, hoping they are just stopping by from out of town, and are DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL. DO NOT GO HERE. IF YOU REALLY FEEL THE NEED TO GO HERE THEN TELL THEM THE BILL DENOMINATION AS YOU ARE...
Read moreA Sweet Start to the Day: Diamond Donut is a Local Treasure! If you're looking for a fantastic local donut shop to brighten your morning in Vista, look no further than Diamond Donut! I've made this spot a regular stop for a couple of reasons. Sometimes, it's to treat my wonderful coworkers with a couple of their mixed dozens – which are always a hit and, I can attest, consistently delicious. Other times, it's a special treat for my son before school when he's been extra good. What truly sets Diamond Donut apart is the people. They are consistently friendly and always quick to help you get your order. You're always greeted with a smile, which makes starting the day even better. Personally, I can't resist their old fashioned and buttermilk glazed donuts paired with a cold milk. It's a classic combo that they absolutely nail every time. You really can't go wrong with it. I absolutely love supporting small businesses like Diamond Donut, and they make it easy to do so with their delicious donuts and wonderful service. I highly recommend stopping by and will definitely continue to be a...
