Denny's — Restaurant in Vista

Wowzers..Just experienced racism at this place. I’ve been going to this location ever since I was a little girl and I’ve NEVER experienced such poor customer service until today. Stephanie (if that is spelled correctly - she did not have a name tag) seen my family of 6 walk in to wait in line to be seated. We were standing there for a few minutes so I had my children sit down on the benches by the door but we were still in line. Soon after, a Hispanic family walked in and once it was our turn to finally be seated she did not acknowledge my family even though she seen them walk in after we’ve already been waiting. She blantly ignored me when I said “excuse me but, we were in the line first” . It took the other family telling her “they were first” for her to finally acknowledge me. With a slight attitude she asked how many people we were with me and then she set our menus down on the counter and said another person will take us to our seats. She then directed her focus back on the other family that came in after us and walked off to go seat them first. When she came back to counter, where me and my family were still standing (waiting on the other person who she said was going to seat us) she said “follow me so I can seat you”. Huh? So I stood there slightly confused because she said someone else was going to seat us but we decided to follow her to the table anyway. Before we even reached the table she was already on her way back to the counter and said “someone else will help you” . Ouch. It took me a minute for the disrespect to fully settle in but once it did I just told my family that we can eat somewhere else. Shocking thing is, we just ate here two days ago and the service was incredible!...

Horrible! Never had such a bad experience at Denny's before! Waitress was not attentive, my mom asked for butter, never got it, never asked me if I wanted a refill on the watered down iced tea, didn't ask us how our food was, or refill our empty ketchup bottle after we asked. My parents have a favorite waiter there but he wasn't working tonight. So we got the sucky people I guess. Even the manager sucks. She was checking on all the tables around us and totally ignored us! My burger wasn't hot, then they microwaved it, but with the bun, pickles, and tomato so then it was soggy and couldn't eat it. Especially with no ketchup! Maybe they were understaffed, but still, no excuse when I see other tables being attended to by the manager even! Luckily meal was comped, but if I can help it, I won't go back to this Denny's on Vista Village Drive in Vista! Wish I could remember the waitress's name, and get the manager's name so I could call them out. Oh well, it's Denny's. Also, food portions have decreased substantially!! My brother got like 10 fries and the onion rings appetizer was way smaller than it used to be, got like 6, maybe 7 bacon tater tots with burger! Just crazy disappointed!! Sorry,...

I usually go to Denny's early morning after Schmitty's closes. Denny's in Escondido, Vista and Carlsbad all have awesome staff From the Waitress to the Cook, just damn good. Even at 2:00 , 3:00, 4:00 AM service is quick, accuracy of the cooks is on the money. Example:- I like the hash browns X-TRA Krispy especially the Biscuit and Gravy Breakfast. Even though I eat SLO W the last hash browns on the bottom, under all the gravy are still nice and crunchy till the last bites. Even at '0''Dark-30 these 3 Denny's have good, very good crews I haven't been to any of the other Denny's in North County San Diego butt I'm sure they're good also. I have met good people, who are now good friends,at the 3 Denny's I mentioned earlier in this long narrative butt trust me, don't read my short novel, just get in there and enjoy the food. 😂P.S.S. One last thing, then you can go bandage your ears, those folks on a budget 2 - 4- 6,- 8~ value menu is perfect for the folks on a limited budget!!! And YESS, I be one of those folks...
