Low prices on a limited, pedestrian selection with an unfriendly staff and a trashy parking lot. Cashiers are largely stoic, unsmiling, bagboys and girls are noticably lazy at their tasks, lackluster in demeanor and sloppy in appearance. The general manager looks like an extra from the film "Deliverance" and apparently was so free from important tasks that he had a full 20 minutes to follow me personally around the store on my most recent visit, sadly it was not to help shop, but apparently to either prevent me from or catch me in the act of shoplifting. Having spent over $250 in there less than impressive store over the course of 3 days it should have been clear, certainly by the third day, that I do not engage in any behavior requiring supervision least of all by their general manager himself. It seems he prefers to busy himself shadowing and making me feel unwelcome rather than reflect upon why it was that in their limited breakfast cereal section, they had shelf space for three different sizes of each mainstream, unimaginative variety instead of a more diverse selection (they do not stock even one type of Kashi, for example.) Having reluctantly and begrudgingly spent over $250 in their less than impressive store over 3 consecutive days, (procuring victuals for a group of volunteers, there in the store's vicinity, to assist several friends in their packing and move out) it should have been clear to any normal person that my presence did not want suspicious oversight. To obtain best prices, large amounts of sale goods need be purchased at once, e.g., 99¢ per 2L bottle but one must buy 5 of them at once. My overall impression of this particular Stater Brothers' staff was that inbreeding was an apparent likely cause of the overall low combined IQ and that in the most important positions, supervisors and managers seemed placed there in order for their career to die a death as ugly as the store's foyer and deli/specialty and butcher departments, along with its dated, crumbling exterior and trashy parking lot. It should surprise no visitor that their poorly lit, smallish roadside sign is dingy and faded. At least the cheap goods on offer are mostly inexpensive (as long as you buy a lot...
Read moreI visited the Vista location this morning and the store manager was friendly and said hello. I walked over to produce and the gentleman was friendly and said hi, I thought WOW what a nice store and they acknowledge their customers until I went to pay. The cashier just asked if I wanted bags and I spoke up and said yes please and I am paying with EBT and I continued to unload my basket and I could hear the cashier and bagger talking about their personal lives. I said hi how are you and she said it's good and then continued to talk to the bagger about their personal lives. Neither one of them wanted anything to do with me lol which is fine with me because I believe my kindness intimidated them. The bagger kept giving dirty looks and she packed my bags so heavy. The fact about bags when purchasing food using EBT you are not supposed to be charged for bags. Don't squeeze heavy items in one bag , it's sad because it's just a bag lol. I'm proudly on food stamps aka EBT because I have owned business, houses, cars, jewelry and I have traveled so you dont judge anyone, plus I'm a tax paying law abiding citizen that has worked. No one is prepared to not be able to work one day due to being disabled, spinal surgery, broken foot, meniscus tear. This can happen to anyone so don't talk about people and be nice. Even after I experienced this I was still nice to you both. Don't work with public if you...
Read moreMy husband went on his lunch time today to get a few groceries and he wanted a money order for rent. When he was in line the lady made him feel bad about asking for a money order after he had his food ringed up. He said it was a manager or assistant manager woman. It's very sad that we can't go around the corner to a neighborhood store and have a pleasant experience. There was a line but that's what your supposed to do especially as a manager or just a person, even if you feel stressed about doing your job, you still do your job, and if a customer wants a money order after he purchases his food then fine, do what your supposed to and help your customers. I don't like when people make you feel below them. Hopefully this place will close so we can get people who actually want to help their customers with the next store. Definitely not going back here. I will leave reviews on other social media. Hope karma gets the woman who was so rude to my husband today while he...
