⸻ After several visits, I feel it’s time to speak up about my experience here. While the food has consistently been great, the service has been just as consistently disappointing. On multiple occasions, my wife and family have been treated rudely by some of the women working the front. It’s disheartening to walk into a place and feel unwelcome, especially when we’ve continued to support the business. I recently tried to address the issue directly by calling and asking to speak with one of the owners, David. After being put on hold for almost 10 minutes and having to call back, I was met with a dismissive attitude. I explained the reason for my call, only to be told he “had to get back to the kitchen”—a clear sign that the conversation wasn’t worth his time. Again, the food has never been the issue. But when you’re regularly spending $120 to $140 per visit, a basic level of respect and professionalism from the staff doesn’t seem like too much to ask. As much as I’ve enjoyed the food, I won’t be coming back. If you’re looking for great pizza with better service and a more welcoming atmosphere, I’d recommend Urbn Pizza down the street. The staff there are friendly, the drink selection is better, and the overall experience is far more enjoyable. (Also attaching a screenshot of my call log, showing how long I was on hold—despite being told “the phone just rang.” That kind of response only adds to the frustration.)

Unfortunately, after several visits, I feel compelled to share that the service here has consistently fallen short. On multiple occasions, staff members—particularly some of the women working the front—have been noticeably rude to my husband and family. I recently attempted to address this with one of the owners, David. After being placed on hold for nearly 10 minutes and having to call back, I was met with a dismissive attitude. Despite taking time to voice my concerns, I was told he “had to get back to the kitchen,” making it clear that the brief conversation wasn’t a priority. The food here has always been solid—no complaints there—but the lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff is disappointing. A little respect and decency shouldn’t be too much to ask, especially when customers are consistently spending $120–$140 per visit. As much as I’ve enjoyed the food, I won’t be returning. If you’re looking for great pizza with better service and a more welcoming environment, I highly recommend Urbn Pizza just down the street. The staff there are friendly, the menu offers a better drink selection, and the overall vibe is much more enjoyable. Excellent beer. Best pizza in world! I have been eating lamppost since I was a kid. Still best pizza for 40 years! I come here every year on my birthday and love it! 11/2/18 - Another year! Still happy! 11/4/22 Another birthday year! Same staff! In fact, the first bartender's son was born on the 11/4. When I arrive he greets me with "Happy Birthday!". His son is now 6. I remember how stressed he was for his 2nd birthday party. :) Thank you Lampost for the 40+ years of good pizza and memories.

I’ve been a loyal customer for years because the pizza here is amazing, but my recent visit to this location left me extremely disappointed due to the poor customer service.

My husband, brother, and I arrived early before the rest of our family, and my brother was hungry, so I went to order him a pizza. The girl at the counter (black hair, black glasses) didn’t greet me or acknowledge me at all—no “hello,” no basic customer service. I let it slide at first, but things got worse when the rest of my family arrived, and we placed another large order.

When we ordered the second time, she asked for our table number, which was the same one she had already given us when we placed our first order for dine-in. That should have been an indicator that we were staying to eat, but somehow, when the food came out, everything was packed in to-go boxes.

A different young lady, who was very polite, brought out the food, and I mentioned that we had not ordered it to-go. She apologized and said she would check on it. A few moments later, the same girl from the register—the one with the attitude—came back with the food and insisted, in a very rude tone, that we had requested it to-go. That was absolutely not the case. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she kept pushing the issue as if she was determined to prove she was right. Her tone was unnecessary and completely lacking in customer service. If she had approached me differently, I wouldn’t have minded a mix-up, but the way she spoke to me was unacceptable.

Because of this terrible experience, I went back up to the register and removed the tip we had left. I always believe in tipping for good service, but this employee did not deserve it. If you don’t like your job, you shouldn’t work in customer service. Mistakes happen, but the way you handle them makes all the difference.

To the owner or manager: I highly recommend retraining your staff on basic customer service skills. The food is great, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I truly hope this location improves its service because I would hate for this to happen to...
