My husband & I were heading to Costco, and I know better than to shop on an empty stomach. We were at the light and looked over and spotted The Modern Churro. I checked the menu quickly before the light changed and found that it was Cuban cuisine (@lissethf_ and @yvette_eclectic). I ordered the Cuban sandwich & Mario order the Vaca Frita. DELICIOUS! I also witnessed the orders of churros and desserts and coffees others were ordering and was so impressed with it all! I am so glad this little gem is in Vista. The owner spoke with us and shared that he is Cuban and his wife is Mexican so they plan to expand their menu with a torta and maybe a few breakfast items because of the coffee. We will be back!!! Everything was so full of flavor! Great portions and great price!

Our first time here and it was a great experience. Walking in we were explained the different kinds of churros that they offer as well as plenty of food options including tortas and tacos. The gentleman helping us was patient and helpful as we weren’t familiar with the menu. We got the modern churro to share with vanilla ice cream topped with nuts and granola and lechera drizzle. The soft serve ice cream was so creamy and tasted home made, both my boyfriend and I agreed that the ice cream was a perfect consistency, not too sweet, and so refreshing. Bad service in general. I ordered a modern churro, which, based on the description it comes with soft serve ice cream. It was funny to see one of the employees serving the ice cream from a regular ice crean bowl and a scoop (something I can do at home). Whats the incentive of it and on top of that it is almost $10 each. I asked why they didnt mention that the soft serve machine wasnt working, and their response was "sorry." Lack of communication. Since i asked about why they didnt mention anything about the soft serve machine, they got annoyed. Why do they have to get annoyed if Im paying for a service? I could give them zero stars. Unfortunately, google doesnt allow me to do so. I dont recommend this...
