We were staying at the hotel across the street and ate here based on google reviews. I have to say, our experience was disappointing. We came in at around 630 on a Friday. Our party of 4 was sat immediately. That was a plus. Our server, Dominque came over to our table quickly and took our drink orders. My wife and I order beers. Each of our pint glasses were filled with about an 1/8 of the glass empty. I'm not saying they needed to be filled to the brim... but they could have been filled a little more. Next, Dominque took our orders. My daughter ordered buttered noodles with parmesan and my wife ordered a Cobb salad with no tomatoes (she's allergic, that will come into play later) sub cheddar cheese. I ordered a chicken steak sub and my son ordered spaghetti and meatballs.
About 30 minutes later, Dominque came out to apologize for the food taking a while. There was a large party in the front of the house and the kitchen was slammed. We were understanding. I used to work in a restaurant, so I understand.
About 45 minutes later, the food came out. My order and my son's order was correct. They gave my daughter plain pasta, not with butter/ parmesan. Then they gave my wife a Cobb with tomatoes, minus avocado. My wife explained to the food runner that she was allergic to tomato and asked for no tomato. The food runner said our server said no avocado. I then reiterated to the runner that since my wife was allergic, the kitchen staff couldn't simply take the tomato off (again, I was a line cook for several years, I know the game). She snapped at me and said, "yeah, I get it. "
Dominque came out and apologized. She had the kitchen staff fix my daughter's pasta. When she came back, she told my wife that her salad was going to take about 10 minutes longer to cook the chicken. About 15 minutes later, my wife's salad came out and she said it was good.
Dominque came out and asked if we wanted a dessert menu. We said no. She then dropped the check. To my surprise, she didn't comp the salad or give us any discount for the inconvenience. A manager never came out to apologize either. These are pretty standard gestures.
So the plus is the food was good. The negative is that our food took way to long given what we ordered and we should have been comped at least a little. I am not a difficult customer, I give great reviews normally, but I had to write to voice my frustration.
If I knew the food runner's name, I would have spoke to the management about...
Read moreI was in Voorhees for a soccer tournament with 15, 16 and 17 year old boys. While there we were looking for a place to dine. We called the restaurant with an interest to make a reservation. We were informed that they did not take reservations. So we decided to just go there. When we arrived we were informed that there was a waitlist.
So as more of our group arrived I made an attempt to get us all in the same area. I was told that getting us in the same area was not possible. I was not trying to circumvent their wait list. I just wanted our group together. While talking to the hostess in reference to adding tables and chairs to an area that had a lot of space that wasn’t being used a male employee interjected himself the conversation. While trying to find alternatives the male employee was was disrespectful and demeaning. Some of our group was at a table and I asked said employee about having the adults move up the bar area where the teenagers could not be and leaving the teenagers at the table in the dining area which is right next to the bar area. Not more then a few feet and is in sight of the bar area. The said employee told me that we we’re not at Chuck E. Cheese and that they are not a daycare.
The food was ok, the servers left a little to be desired. It seemed as if most of the employee had a chip on their...
Read moreI'm in town for a couple days and was looking for a good spot after a long flight and a full day at work. I was cruising Google maps and stumbled on this place. The outdoor seating was great, it wasn't too crowded but I also came on the early side. Was able to grab some boneless wings on happy hour. They were good but a spicier sauce option would be a nice addition. I tried one of the craft beers on happy hour which I would normally never order. It was a blueberry sour beer that actually went ok with the wings. They have Pacifico on tap which was cool to see. I spend a lot of time in Mexico and finding it on tap down there isn't even a guarantee. Coming from Seattle it's always a shock (in a good way) when traveling but after getting the bill I was pleasantly surprised. I would have expected $40-45 at home but it was $25. I am unfortunately heading out to DC today but if I wasn't I would probably go back tonight to try some other beers and food options. Service was great. This place reminds me of my favorite bar back home which means great service, food, drinks and beer for a reasonable price. You don't find...
