the service and tea quality (sweetness, creamy levels, boba quality) were unprofessional and inconsistent for the most part. I came here 4 times and only once the employee here was friendly enough to answer my questions in the friendly way when they took my order. every other time, they were cold, as if I begged them to sell me milk tea. I wonder if because they think I'm an Asian girl so I better know abt milk tea in general.
this place is good for taking instagram picture, but I won't come back again.
my sister and I came the first day they opened at 10:57 am or something like that. one girl took our order, didn't offer any sample or give any suggestions. when we asked, she talked really short and cold. well, fine. then we ordered lavender oolong milk tea with white boba, organic genmaicha with white boba, and later black milk tea with boba. they can't really adjust the sweetness of the milk tea.
lavender oolong milk tea with white boba - really sweet. we can't smell or taste any lavender. when asked, the guy there said maybe because oolong was too strong. white boba (some other milk tea places call it crystal boba) is good.
organic genmaicha milk tea - less sweet than the one before. creamy milk tea.
black milk tea with boba - I didn't taste it, but my sister told me it's sweet, and boba was really soft, over cooked.
a couple days later we came back. ordered organic Hojicha milk tea, organic dark roast Oolong milk tea, and organic earl grey black milk tea with boba. Overall the milk tea is less sweet than the first day.
Hojicha milk tea - it's good, has a little bitter aftertaste. If you have ever tried Hojicha milkshake at matcha love, it's pretty similar in taste.
dark roast Oolong milk tea - finally I got milk tea that not creamy.
earl grey black milk tea with boba - good drink, but again the boba is really soft,...
Read moreREAD reviews before visiting- my daughter had a friend recommend this establishment, so after our day in Waco we stopped by. The area is a little bit sketchy, there is an ipad sized kiosk for ordering, no humans to interact with, no "food" up front, just someone who yelled from a backroom a greeting of a sort. The atmosphere is kind of fun, kind of makeshift and wonky. The table we sat at to wait for our drinks was partially broken. It did seem like a long time to prepare a couple of little drinks. I needed to use the restroom and it was very dirty, no toilet paper, no soap, no paper towels, dead bugs on the floor and random pennies on a shelving unit, just gross! I read reviews AFTER we had ordered- mistake (I should have looked up reviews before going). The drink I selected on the kiosk wasn't actually available and I had to off the cuff pick something else. You'd think a computer generated menu would be up to date. The employee that came out from their backroom to have me pick something else was pleasant and the drinks were pretty good. Like another reviewer had mentioned, the cups are VERY thin so be careful of that and the prices are really high for what you actually get. A clearly drugged-up, possibly homeless person came in to use the restroom and was asking myself and another customer for toilet paper and then approached me for money at my car as we were trying to leave (obviously making my daughter and myself feel unsafe).
If you want bubble tea, choose somewhere else. This place needs a visit from the health department, it's prices are high, very unclean and just a sketchy atmosphere with a kiosk to greet you and practically no human interaction or ability to see your drink being made, etc. I gave the place a 2 star vs the 1 star as I did get a drink that was tasty (just small and not over...
Read moreHello fellow Wacoans...I ordered from this place a couple nights ago (9:30pm). I work in healthcare, I have received both doses of Moderna Vx back in Jan/Feb. We are at the point where we don’t wear masks in the clinical setting. McLennan Co doesn’t require masks for vaccinated folks, Waco doesn’t either, and neither does Texas. I went into the restaurant, TONS of folks sitting down drinking without masks on (literally no one in the building had one on), and I go to the counter to get my to-go order, the lady has it in her hands, and she says, “no mask no service, no mask no service, no mask no service,” three times like that because she didn’t want me to reply I guess - who knows? So I walk back out past everyone, to my car, and I find an old mask that probably shouldn’t be on my face, and I go back in. This little episode of making me go back out exposed everyone in the room by 200% more than if she’d have just handing the drinks to me for carry-out. Again...no one in the restaurant had masks in and this is a tight space without social distancing. By the way, masks don’t work as well as distancing. Also, the virus doesn’t magically stop becoming a threat when you sit at a table. There is no logic here, except to embarrass a customer who is already vaccinated! I’m...
