If you’re ever in Waco and find yourself craving something fresh, flavorful, and fast, there’s a high chance you’ll end up at CAVA—and if you’re lucky, you’ll be greeted by Gregory, one of the most genuinely kind and welcoming people I’ve encountered in customer service.
From the moment I walked in, Gregory stood out—not just because of his warm smile, but because of the way he made the entire dining experience feel personal and thoughtful. You can tell he loves what he does. Whether he’s behind the counter preparing bowls, answering questions about the menu, or simply greeting guests with a cheerful “Hey there! Welcome in,” Gregory brings a calm, positive energy that makes CAVA feel like more than just a fast-casual restaurant.
What struck me most about Gregory was his attention to detail and his effortless ability to make everyone feel seen. He doesn’t just take your order—he listens. When I mentioned it was my first time at CAVA, he took a moment to walk me through the menu, recommending combinations based on my preferences and explaining the different flavor profiles of each ingredient. He made suggestions without being pushy, and his enthusiasm for the food was honestly contagious. You could tell he wanted me to enjoy what I ordered, and that kind of care is rare these days.
The line moved efficiently even when it was busy, and Gregory never seemed rushed. He treated every guest with the same level of friendliness and patience, always maintaining that warm smile. You get the sense that he understands the power of small gestures—greeting people by name if he knows them, making sure they’re happy with their order, and thanking everyone sincerely as they leave. It’s clear that to Gregory, this isn’t just a job—it’s an opportunity to make people’s days a little brighter.
In a world where good customer service is increasingly hard to come by, Gregory is a breath of fresh air. He elevates the entire experience at CAVA with his kindness, professionalism, and authenticity. It’s not just about the food (which is delicious, by the way)—it’s about the way you feel when you walk in and are treated like more than just another customer. Gregory gets that.
If the team at CAVA Waco ever sees this: Gregory is a gem. He represents your brand with pride and heart, and he’s a big reason why people will keep coming back. I know I will.
Thank you, Gregory, for making great food even better with your spirit and smile. You truly make...
Read moreMy daughter from Conroe told me she ate at Cava today. I hadn't heard of it. She said she went to the Woodlands. The rest of the family looked it up and realized we have one here in Waco. We were super excited! I went online to place the order which was extremely difficult to pay for. It asked for Apple Pay, which I don't use, but would not let me put in a debit or credit card. I was forced to upload a card into Apple Pay just to place an order online because otherwise their site just buffeted repeatedly. It's not worthy that I was not using the app. I just use the site and selected the Waco location. After finally being able to order, my two other daughters went to pick up my order. When they walked in, they weren't sure where to go but they saw a bag sitting on the counter. The bag was unmarked. They were nervous about just peeking inside to see if it was our order, but apparently, they were allowed to do just that. 😳 that means anybody that walked in before them could just rifle through our bag I suppose. Yuck! Then, when they got outside they realized the order was wrong. When they went back inside to have it corrected, there was no sense of urgency on behalf of the staff to fix it. The staff began serving people that were just walking in the door and left my daughters to stand in line. That meant, our food was getting more and more soggy. My youngest daughter tried to get the attention of someone who just ignored her and walked away. By the time I got the food, although it had good flavor, it was extremely soggy. We are not looking forward to another experience here. Perhaps we will try a different location in a...
Read moreThere’s a new Cava location here in Waco! We love going to Cava whenever we’re in Georgetown so it’s nice to know we can get a nice healthy meal here in town.
We got lucky when we went since there were only 2 people in line before us. We noticed after we received our food there were about 8 groups of customers in line waiting to be served. I’m assuming the line was longer due to the popularity and newness rather than the speed of service. Plus the place being as new as it is they are probably getting used to the recipes and ingredients. The line moved a long for us though and we had our food in no time.
The food was fresh and good as always. It tasted a lot like the Georgetown location so I only have good things to say about that. Of course the sweet soda alternatives are great here. The Mint Cucumber lime lemonade combo is my favorite. I mix 3/4th a cup of mint cucumber lime and the rest lemonade. It’s delicious.
The bathroom is a weird situation. They keep the doors locked with a code combination and since it’s a combination lock you need to knock before you put in the code. Probably because the code bypasses the lock and you can easily walk in on someone. Since it’s an all gender restroom you can possibly see someone of the other gender doing their business. I would recommend them installing normal door locks rather than the combination. Maybe the combination is due to the higher % of homeless people on the area but it’s not very convenient for the customers.
All and all I recommend giving this place a shot.
