I've been hesitant to post a public review, but as direct feedback has not received any response, I'll leave my comments here.
I'm familiar with Slim Chickens having been to a few other locations several times. The experiences I've had at this location fall far below the standard set at the others I've been to. I hope Wacoans don't develop their opinions of the franchise as a whole based on the quality (or lack thereof) of this location. My rating is based more on the quality of this location relative to other Slims locations I've been to.
The preparation of the food is extremely inconsistent. The fries have never been properly prepared, ranging from soggy, underdone, and underseasoned, to nearly done and doused in seasoning to the point of inedibility. The chicken has ranged from soggy to overfried and dry. The toast, which is normally good at other locations, ends up in the trash because it is a soggy piece of buttered bread.
The customer service also has been lacking. From forgotten items, wrong items, to simple incompetence, this isn't what I've experienced at other locations. Perhaps more training is needed.
I hope this location turns itself around. I would love a Slims location to be successful in Waco because I love the product. However, if things continue as they do I wonder about the future of...
Read moreThe customer service was terrible! They definitely need to spend more time on customer service training. I have never been to a Slim Chickens before so I am not sure if this is a company issue or if it was specific to this site.
Cameron, in particular, was super rude and seemed like he didn't want to be there. He opened the window and said "more" in a unfriendly tone. It took me a moment to realize he was referring to a name. After I gave him my name, he closed the window without another word. He then gave me the wrong order. When I sent it back, the guy that came to check the order looked at me as if I was the issue. After taking some time, he handed me a bag again. I asked, "Are the sauces and straw in the bag?" to which he replied, "yes". However, after checking my bag and finding the sauces and straw were not there, I kindly informed him of this fact. He then sighed, asked for my receipt and then shut the window again before returning with my sauce. He seemed so bothered to have to assist me.
The woman who took my order was not much better but I did not get her name.
Worst service I have experienced since moving to Waco thus far. Which was extremely disappointing considering the long wait times.
The food was a little too salty but seemed fresh. I def won't...
Read moreFirst time here. Tried the cayenne chicken sandwich with fries and a drink. Got some side sauces to dip my fries. The chicken was tasty but not spicy enough to call it a cayenne chicken sandwich. The fries were good. The mango habanero sauce was too sweet for me with almost no spice but it was a good flavor, just not my style. The Sriracha Garlic was tasty too, made for a great fry dip. Agian, this sauce didn't seem much hotter than the spicy ketchup at whataburger. I finally ended up asking for the Inferno which had a really good buffalo sauce flavor but not quite. Less vinegar? It was spicy, I would compare to a good spicy jalapeño, maybe even as hot as a Serrano.
The service was good, quick, and attentive. It wasn't busy when we visited and the associate taking the order was patient with us while we went over the menu board. After I paid I went to fill my drink and in the few minutes I was handling that they managed to get the food on the table. A few minutes later one of the associates walked the dining area to ask each table if everything was OK and if they needed anything. A little later another associate, presumably the manager based on the different attire, came to the floor to check on everything/everyone and even cleared our table of the stuff we...
