So my friend kept telling me how great this place was so I decided to give it a try. Food tasted great service could use some work tho. I applied for the serving position and worked to days only to get told that they no longer need me? Which was very confusing. They gave me no training and threw me into the fire basically. They expected me to know everything right off the bat which wasn't very fair to me. They also take 30% of your tips to give to back of house even tho they have a tip jar in the front at the sushi station for the back of house. How was that fair to me and the other servers it's also illegal to be taking tips like that without prior knowledge. The papers I was giving looked like check boxes and I told them straight up that hey I wasn't giving my tip money away I have a kid to feed and rent to pay I need every cent. After I found out all this I also noticed back of house seems to purposely ignore some of the tickets causing the customers to not get some of there food. I had to put in orders 5+ times before they finally get it done and sometimes it even took me going as far as getting one of the servers that spoke there language to talk to them since they refused to listen to me. Talk about disrespectful. For the short time I worked there the managers didn't know what they whwre doing. The one dude would yell at servers or the back of house to move faster or they would talk in another language behind others back. I left on my own terms highly recommend finding somewhere else to eat as these people don't really know what they are doing half the time. Huhot and Hajime are way way better and would highly recommend going there rather them wasting ur time and energy on this place. Just so yall are aware u need to make all orders not just...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience. My girlfriend and I had the all you can eat sushi, which we were informed was $30.99. She ordered a Sprite and I had a water, yet we were both charged $2.00 for a drink. Not a great start having to pay for water, at least the same as a fountain drink. The server also refilled both of our half-empty drinks with water, so my girlfriend's drink was a ruined mix of Sprite and water.
The bill ended as $75 somehow, which just simply did not add up, despite finishing all of our food. There was a huge "food tax," but even still, it was only $5, so I'm not sure how or why we paid so much.
The service wasn't even satisfactory. They messed up one of our orders giving us chicken teriyaki instead of the teriyaki roll, which we had to finish and could not reorder since the kitchen was closing (it closes befors their listed close time). They also "lost" another one of our tickets for some more rolls at the end, and we waited so long for our server to the point were the kitchen was already closed.
The food was not bad, but it was not great either. They use a lot of cheap oil, especially for the fried rice. The sushi was lacking flavor overall. The best thing we had was the edamame, which is unfortunate considering it is a sushi restaurant. I ended up feeling extremely sick afterwards as well.
Lastly, the atmosphere was not horrible appearance-wise. It's a large, modern-oriental room in orange and black. The table next to us was rather loud and seemed to know the server personally, getting their food way before us, despite ordering after us. The radio was constantly blaring which has 80% ads, 20% actual music. It sounded like the connection was poor as well because there was so much static,...
Read moreI have been to this establishment on several occasions, and each time I am faced with dealing with one of their “ rules “ that has caused me to feel like I do not want to return to this establishment again. My first experience there was with my children. My children are aged 10 and eight. The menu clearly stated that children 10 and under would be charged the rate for children’s price. When I receive the bill, I was charged for two adults and one child. When I questioned the server, he told me that since my older child was already 10, she was charged the adult price. I tried to push the issue with the wording of the policy and was told there was nothing that could be done. This was the rules. The second time I ate at the restaurant, the waiter pleasantly told me that I would be charged $2 for each piece of leftover sushi on my plate because of their “excessive waste” rule. I had an 4 more pieces I forced myself to eat to avoid this charge. I feel that is pretty ridiculous. The last time I ate there (and it will truly be my last visit due to the issues here), I was charged a fee for using my credit card. Now don’t get me wrong, I totally understand having to pay a fee. However, most establishments tell you what that fee amount will be. This establishment does not. They simply have a sign saying they will charge a credit card tax fee. I figured out that this fee is around 10%!! That is TOTALLY ridiculous! I’m done! I’d rather eat my meal at another establishment where I know that I won’t be charged for rules that...
