My family has gone to the St. Cloud location many times for family dinners, however, this last Friday (01/03) marked the last time we will ever do so. I walked in at 6pm and told the hostess working we'd have a group of 20 and that we'd need a table in the dining room (as opposed to the bar area where the tables are all high tops due to us having elderly and young children in the group), the hostess took down that info (I watched her write it all down on what looked to be a scrap piece of paper) and was told it would be an hour wait, which was fine, and I went to sit down. We had planned the dinner to be at 6:30 but a few of us got there early so that way we'd have a shorter wait. As we were waiting we noticed that the hostess was seating multiple smaller tables in the dinning areas even though we didn't see small groups leaving those areas. Finally, at 7pm I went up to our hostess and asked for an update and she said she had been clearing off a long table in the bar area, I stopped her and told her that when I'd come in I'd clarified that we needed to be seated in the dining room, after that all she did was curse under her breath and walk away. Shortly after another woman came out (I assume she was a manager as she wasn't wearing the typical black polo that all the other staff was wearing) and we heard her talking to the hostess and clearly heard her state in a nasty tone "you're kidding, now they're deciding they want the dining room," which really aggravated me since I'd made it clear from the beginning where we wanted to sit and why. This manager then came to us and told us it would be another 45 min for our table and I confronted her, asking why when we'd seen many tables leave and they had clearly been trying to seat us in the wrong spot, which is why they no longer had a table for us, and she said "it's busy, that's just how it is." She then suggested she could seat us at 2 separate tables on opposite sides of the dining room, which was an automatic no since we were celebrating birthday and finally they were able to set us up at a 12 top table with 2 booths right next to it, which we had to settle with since every one was hungry and we didn't really have other options. This same manager came out and assisted our waitress a few times after we sat down and while I didn't experience her first hand I heard from the rest of my family that she had a horrible attitude with everyone for the rest of the night and that she was even rushing our waitress with our service. Our poor waitress had to come out and take drink and food orders all at once for 20 people split between 3 tables, which we didn't request, we would have been perfectly fine getting drinks done first and then ordering food after. Throughout the night the waitress was the only saving grace of the entire...
Read moreOur server, Andreas, was fantastic. He was very professional, he also knew the menu well which benefited our many questions. This server was patient, funny and helpful, making our experience there very smooth and enjoyable. The weather was just about perfect for Minnesota (which Minnesotans will tell you never happens 😅) therefore we enjoyed our meal outside.
Of course, the first thing that he brought out was our crispy chips and restaurant style salsa. Which we enjoyed for a little while while we waited for our drinks. A friend and I split the chicken & steak fajitas, which was just about right for the 2 of us, though we were not looking to eat much. She also had a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup, and it smelled so very good that I should have probably bought my own bowl. My other friend had the chicken fajita salad, she told us that it was phenomenal and that she would absolutely recommend it.
For our drinks one friend had a pineapple mojito and the other two of us had margaritas, naturally 😋! Our server made sure to bring out waters with our beverages, which anytime I order liquor I really appreciate because.. Well, sometimes I forget to order that water. Then I find myself looking around for it like a dry fish, heh.
We sat and talked until the restaurant closed & not once did the server try to rush us out the door as we enjoyed our evening together and chatted. He even joined in on our casual banter every now and then.
Overall, this was a great experience in a relaxing,...
Read moreOur First time going was yesterday, the place was beautiful inside with historial photos and the staff was professional everything was great right out the door we ordered take out. the food came in paper brown bags and it was incased in aluminum pans. All was well; the food tasted delicious and it was well prepared as far as taste and presentation.
Now here's the reason for one star: no more than 20 minutes after eating nothing else but la Casita I developed sulfuric burps and extreme gas pain. I figured because the taco came with refried beans and black beans that's maybe why so I pushed through the pain, no sleep what so ever last night because of the constant runs to the bathroom to release awful sulfuric gas. Fast forward to the morning at 4:40 I was glued to the toilet as my bowels became some type of fountain everytime I got up I was back on the toilet I had to take multiple showers because my my butt became raw after close to an hour of this it stopped... So I tirelessly went to work and 10 minutes into work I had to run to the bathroom tired and dehydrated it was another pressure bomb which ended in a mess. Had to go home and it still hasn't stopped and it's almost ten headed to the nearest pharmacy for Pepto or something. Ps: my husband is fine so it may have been the dish not sure why I got the bad batch. I didn't eat the chips and salsa or the soup just the dish I ordered I forget the name but it was said to be a popular...
