Mackey's Pub — Restaurant in Wake Forest

Wanted to give this place a try bc I drive by it often. When I saw that they had a reuben sandwich on their menu, i was super excited. I ordered onion rings for my side. I order a kids burger and fries for my son. It wasnt very busy when we were in there but the food take a good amount of time to come out but upon seeing my Reuben, i was excited. I was excited UNTIL... i bit into the sandwhich and couldnt bite thru the corned beef. I ended up ripping out almost all the corned beef bc I couldn't chew or bite thru it. It was pretty disappointing. Also 1/3 of the onion rings were burnt. When the waittress asked if everything was good and tasted good, i answered no. She just stood there and said "oh..." and then walked away. The kids burger was just mediocre. My son didnt like it. He took 1 bite and was done with it. Probably wont be coming back here for the food. They did take $2 off my tab, so that was nice of...

Foods amazing. Drinks great!... till I saw the roaches cruising around, not water bugs that sneak in from outside... actual german roaches.. at least 2..yea..staff are nice as heck too. they even smashed one into the bar infront if us. Not even the one in the picture! I'm out. Gl on your biz. I'm going home to reenact the shower scene from the crying game.

We had a large group at Mackey's and was seriously disappointed at the food preparation of the hamburgers and the chicken strips. One burger that was supposed to be medium was seriously overcooked and two burgers that were medium rare were very rare. The one order of chicken was also seriously overcooked and dry.
