Wings & Turkey B-B-Q — Restaurant in Raleigh

First of all God bless you guys. I saw the location and really wanted to try it. As a man from the south, if I get a chance to get some comfort food then im all over it!

First the not so good...the fries were bland, needed a bit of salt. I don't want to have to drench them in ketchup to want to eat them. The Mac n cheese was ok...not terrible but nothing to tell the masses about. It was decent but I wouldn't get it again. And the bbq turkey was terrible. (I thought I ordered an actual turkey wing, as thats what I wanted, but apparently I didnt. Which is fine, thats on me to pay attention to my order. But ive heard the turkey wings were good.) Funny taste, almost as if it were old and the tang was not good. And it looked like a whole mess on the plate. Drowning in juice and just not being a pleasant meal.

The good...chicken wings were on point! Seasoned to perfection! Fried to a good crisp...I thoroughly enjoyed them. I had lemon pepper and tasted every bit of it. The greens were cool. Again nothing to rave about honestly but they were one of the two good things I ate tonight. Good seasoning and plenty of meat mixed in that made it good. Not my aunties greens but I would get them again.

All in all, amazing portion sizes and the food arrived hot! I mean it felt like everything was prepared fresh...just didn't taste like it unfortunately. I appreciate what you guys do and I want to thank you for the service you provide. I don't think it's overpriced. I would probably pay more had it hit my taste buds.

✨Virtual Food Hall Experience✨

I found this spot on Instagram and was excited to visit since it’s my first time exploring a virtual food hall.

Pros:

Customer service was very pleasant and helpful when placing my order. I even got a sample of the BBQ turkey, which was tasty. 😊 The portion size of the Thanksgiving Stuffed Turkey Legs was impressive. It came with a generous amount of food, definitely sharable, and the presentation was on point—it looked as good as it sounded.

Food Ratings:

Yams: Delicious, perfectly flavored. 9/10 Turkey Legs: Tender and juicy, but a bit too salty. 7/10 Mac & Cheese: Looked great, cheesy & creamy, but again salty (mixed feelings here cuz I wanted to love it, but couldn't). 6/10 Collard Greens: Clean and tender, but the saltiness took away from the flavor. 5/10

Cons: The biggest drawback was the saltiness. It overpowered the natural flavors and dampened the overall experience. My girlfriend felt the same way about her meal. A little less salt (and allowing customers to add salt to their own preference) would make a big difference.

Overall Experience: I’d rate it a 7/10. While the portion sizes, presentation, and service were excellent, the saltiness was hard to overlook. I probably wouldn’t order the stuffed turkey legs again, but the BBQ turkey was good, and I’m curious to try their potato salad if I return...

The very first time I tried the food. The line was long I figured on a Friday night it must be G👀D!! I got plain wings Mac and cheese and yams. I’m not sure the condition of the grease being used. Fresh fried chicken usually has a welcoming aromatic display. This had a smell of a bit of burned oil yet an old grease smell. The chicken was hot and done, but didn’t have a good chicken flavor. That smell I described was the flavor. The Mac and cheese was full of cracked black pepper FULL!!! That’s all you could taste the cheese flavor non existent. The yams were ok…until the next day…I was in a meeting with the Tidy Bowl man all day. SICK!!! I bought it on Friday… was Sick Sat. Sun. I don’t believe I will return. Grease gets Rancid…WHICH MEANS IT NO G👀D!! Also once it scorches it’s a done deal as well. If you wanna use pepper in your Mac that’s your business. Use white not big giant pieces of cracked black pepper. $19.25 for 10 wings and 2 sides. People are paying for a service and looking for good food. Stop making mediocre food and selling it to hard working people. Who are attempting to patronize your business to keep your doors open. 🤢Just thinking about it my stomach just flopped.
