Typically SCNB is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at. However I was extremely disappointed last night when I visited the Wake Forest location. The whole experience was horrible. First of all, it was so cold in there you could see the condensation on the doors and windows before we even walked in. When I say cold, I mean freezing! As I walked in the doors the freezing air made me so uncomfortable, and the floors were so slippery and dirty. I literally thought I was going to slip and fall. Food crumbs and napkins all over the floor.
As my fiancé was ordering the food, the lady asked if we needed to go boxes, I guess because we were ordering so much. This was an insult as we had not eaten all day, this would’ve been our first meal, and we had been out at football games all day. Anyway, I had to use the bathroom while he finished ordering. The bathroom was disgusting. Poop stains and streaks in ALL of the toilet bowls. When my fiancé went to the men’s room, he said there was paper towels and toilet paper in the urinals. To the point where water was barely able to come up.
I came back and the food was there. The chicken pieces were so dark looking , the pork was extremely dry, the chicken wings were also dark and dry as if they used old oil , refried chicken or something AND it tasted weird. The fries and rest of food got cold quick because of how cold it was in the building. The sweet tea tasted like water, not sweet at all. We typically get refills on our tea and need to go boxes when we eat here but not today. We did not want to take that food home. Went to throw away our trash and all the trash cans were full to the rim with trash hanging out of them. Just looking around it was nasty, nasty,nasty. Food on the napkin dispensers, food on the tables and chairs. The booths were gross too as my fiancé tried several different tables before we found one that wasn’t dirty. Dust and what looked to be grease on the ceiling/fans.
I am extremely disappointed and I want the owners to know about this. I’m hoping they don’t know and would never knowingly operate a business this way. I hope this review helps save someone time and money as we drove 30 minutes out of our way to eat here and it was a complete waste. Oh and lastly, the lady who seemed to be the manager was loud and saying “y’all owe me your check” to the other employees . I guess she felt that she was doing their job.

For starters, the counter clerk was very difficult to communicate all of my order requests to such putting my sides in separate containers from the entrée due the flood of liquid saturation of my fried chicken wings snack, and my chicken tender snack orders that I had requested. That part was the first to be a disappointment because I was given 2 chicken wing snacks instead of 1 chicken wing snack and 1 tender snack order. Then the one dozen hushpuppy order was the worst that I have had in recent memory due to the separation of the beautiful outside crust from the inside body of the hushpuppy, and the flavor was horrible that I wouldn't eat myself, or even offer to my canine. This was a take out order that I placed inside the restaurant, and that the cashier and I went over verbally before finishing with my payment. I contacted the assistant manager by phone as we were sitting down at our daughter's table to eat and discovering the issues with our order. She got my contact information in order to send me a gift card for$35.00 to cover the meal cost. I was told to expect to receive the gift card in approximately one week, but it has been at least 3 weeks, and there is still no gift card. That type of promise should not have been made if no follow-up was intended to make that the card had been received by me. At this point, we will not be patronizing that Wake Forest, NC location ever again. Beware of what might be in store for you. After going back to this location, I was given a $35 gift card by a manager. We just went back again, and my order was wrong this time. Read moreWhen I came here to this location this past Saturday afternoon, I specifically ordered a chicken dark platter with two sides of potato salad and coleslaw and a cup of water for $7.49. But when the dark-skinned young lady rung up my order, she overcharged me $10.26. I was like, "Wait a minute, I specifically ordered a chicken dark platter, NOT the combination dark that included the barbeque along with two sides of my choice." When she tried to get the supervisor, he came over to look at what he thought I ordered and convinced her to have me pay $10.26 for something I didn't order. So instead of paying for something that they overcharged me, I quickly walked out the door, before I'd even pay a dime to someone who is trying to get over on me. I'm glad that I left there because I know what I ordered. I did NOT twist my words or confuse myself or anybody else about my order, so they might as well forget about trying to get over on me by overcharging me something I didn't order. I hope they get their facts straight. I know everybody makes mistakes in life, DUH. But guess what? I made a mistake coming here if these employees can't own up to their errors they made on their computer machine and try to expect me to overpay for the wrong order. I definitely will not be coming back here if they don't get their acts together or their facts straight. I know I have gotten my facts straight about what I wanted to order, so please do not treat me like I'm stupid because I will walk away without giving you a dime and I won't be eating anything from here at all.
