Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Walker

Where do I begin, called to place an order for our company. Was told they wouldn't take phone orders we had to do it online..ok no problem. Placed online order to be done at 11:57am. Sent an employee to pick up the food. He arrived 5 after 12. Waited to be helped then was told it would be another 30 minutes as they had to clean the frier out... why wasn't this done the previous night or prior to opening I'll never know, horrible management I can only imagine. 30 minutes comes and goes. Our employee re enters (still on our clock) and was told it still wasn't ready that it would be another 30-40 minutes.... we asked for a refund and were told we couldn't get one due to the fact we ordered online (at their direction) and that the Manager had to do refunds and would be in Friday - it's wednesday... what are we to do at this point, we wait.... would take longer to leave and get food somewhere where they know what they're doing so we wait, and wait and wait. At this point hours have passed, we have seen 3 of 4 michigan seasons and still no crispy fish or hush puppies. Finally the food comes out. The order was accurate the dipping sauce quantity was way off, way off, thank God for the amount of saliva in our mouths from the anticipation of waiting for hours, it helped wash it down. This said, the food was great but the overall experience will make us all pack a lunch...

TLDR: if you like LJS, you’ll love this location. If you don’t, skip my review. It’s deep fried fast food seafood- and I live for it 🤣

We got the specials:

FISH, CHICKEN & SHRIMP PLATTER- 2PC FISH, 1PC CHICKEN, 3PC SHRIMP, 2 SIDES, 2 HUSHPUPPIES- we got cheese curds as one of the sides instead of fries (extra charge).

FISH & SHRIMP PLATTER- 2PC FISH, 6PC SHRIMP, 2 SIDES, 2 HUSHPUPPIES.

If you come late in the day (within 3 hrs of closing) you may not get hushpuppies- the batter takes time to proof and they only make a certain amount per day, so they tend to run out- just a heads up.

The coleslaw is bomb. Get it.

Every time we visit, the food is just as expected: crispy, deliciously fried and greasy, and the sides are great. I didn’t love the cheese curds tbh, so in future visits I probably won’t get those. The cheesecake is literally perfect- tastes great and is a much smaller serving that at Cheesecake Factory so 1) you don’t feel so absolutely stuffed and guilty after eating a whole piece and 2) it’s wayyyy cheaper 🤣.

The Starrrberry lemonade is pretty good. I recommend.

This is not a place to go for health. This is a place to go because you want fried food and you’re going to make that decision 💀

Literally stole our money. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE - along with the rest of our meal we bought about $10 worth of popcorn shrimp. When I came to the window saying I had an online order, they insisted I come inside, despite it raining out quite a lot. Once I ran in they tried to confuse me with DoorDash, and I told them again, no I am not doordash, I have an ONLINE order (their website allows you to order online so IDK why this was so strange for them). They then proceeded to tell me they were out of popcorn shrimp, and upon asking about the large fried shrimp, they told me they are out of all shrimp...but that's not all! They then told me they could not replace the shrimp with any equal value food AND that because it was online they would not be able to give me a refund. Yes that's correct, they took my money, gave me no food, and refused to give the money back. Upon getting home I found out that I could not call customer service like the manager claimed I needed to do. After calling the restaurant several times over several different days and times, I realized they must leave their phones off the hook so they don't have to answer their inevitably angry customers.
