The reclining seats are really nice and comfy. The buttons are on the inside of the arm so if your phone hits it or something it messes with the way you set your seat. Also, the last time we were here the seat my spouse had was broken, and AMC didn't even offer an apology or anything. The theater was too crowded to switch seats. Being able to pre-purchase assigned seats is great. As long as you know how to plan ahead you can get a great seat. The concessions are decent, although it would be nice if we could get alcohol like they show in the commercial. They also changed the nacho cheese and it's not very good anymore. The bathrooms are terrible. They're clean but the toilet paper holder is just barely above the floor so you have to struggle with your pants down to try and get toilet paper. Also, the motion sensor soap dispensers and faucets are the worst I've ever used. If I'm lucky I can get soap from one sink and find water that will run somewhere else. There is one miniscule paper towel dispenser that runs out by the afternoon and doesn't get refilled until close so you're forced to use the blow dryer which has been proven to just spread germs. Lastly, I wish they would stop playing that horrible M&M commercial. The one that pretends to be a movie. It's been the same commercial for 5 years now, and for people who frequently go to the movies it's enough to induce rage. See attached photo. šŸ˜µšŸ˜ šŸ’©

-Mom of a toddler- we have been to this theater once before before kids and honestly the seats are AMAZING almost too comfy. First I will say the 4 stars is more due to the horrendously overpriced unhealthy concession stand, like I know it’s a movie theater I just don’t think popcorn for a small child and two adults should cost more than the movie šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø second if you have a toddler (this was her first movie going experience at 2.5) don’t show up 5 minutes early cause she used up 25 full minutes of her enthusiasm on the previews (the movie ā€˜started’ at 10:30 but didn’t actually start till 10:50 no joke). That is more a reflection on the movie industry not the theater so more of a tip than part of the review. I’m pretty sure she was the only kid sitting upside down and backwards on the big seats and fell off them -twice- but the AMC is so great for anyone with littles cause she had room to get up and dance a couple times and not really disturb anyone. So overall value you get sooooooo much more personal space VS other theaters in GR which is so important for people with small children. I don’t think it would have been a very fun experience at a ā€˜traditional’ movie theater but dispute a couple toddler moments we had an amazing time here šŸ‘Œ

First time visit. Overall it was great. The venue was huge! The staff were courteous and the snacks were...well snackable. We were on time for the feature so missed all those pre-show snippets which was good. The seating was great. Recliner type chairs and holders that actually held your snacks and/drinks. Had to search a minute to find the button to recline the chair but seating was confortable. Sound quality was loud but if theater was a little fuller, it would have been acceptable. You can see the decline in crowds by the number if empty seats in the theater. Including our group there were a total of 6 seats filled! Granted, this was at 9:30am on a Monday but kids were out of school as it is summer and when I was growing up going to the movies was a thrill. Mom's would get to spend a little more time with their kids and now a days it seems parents Don't care where or what their delinquent kids are up to. Anywho.....it was a first run move and that just made the experience better it seems. I would rate this venue and experience a 4+ star outing. Go to the movies......again! It may surprise you how fun it STILL is!

Wanted to take my son to see the new Lego movie and he kept saying he wanted to go to the theater that had the comfy chairs. His grandmother over heard and said oh that's the AMC (star) theatre on Alpine. I haven't been there in years so I decided to go. I remember it being dirty but it was old school looking so I looked past it. When we arrived I noticed it had been remodeled. Sadly I did not make it past the front counter. Standing in line waiting to buy tickets I noticed these people were standing next to us. I wondered if they were going to skip the rope line area everyone else had to navigate in. When the people at the counter left my son and I went to walk up and the young guy at the counter said members first please and they waved these people ahead of us with their 6 kids. Apparently people don't believe in lines anymore or first come first serve. Either way, I usually don't get offended easy, honestly, but this really bothered me. Maybe cause this was my first experience here since I was 14 or maybe because I don't like thinking people are better than others because they knew about a special perk. I grabbed my son and walked out. I decided to drive across town to celebration theater. On my way to the new theatre I called AMC and a young guy Josh answered the phone. I asked Josh if I could speak to the manager. He replied, "and what is this regarding?" As my frustration was building I replied "I just left your theater and I am heading to celebration and I thought you would like to know why." He quickly replied "oh ok well what is the problem?" I said, "are you the manager Josh?" "Yes" he said. "Why didn't you just say so when I asked?" I questioned. "Oh because I wanted to know the scope of things before revealed that I was the manager", he said. "....." was my silent response and then I hung up. Celebration is a bit more expensive but I don't leave feeling like I was disrespected and to my surprise you can drink alcohol in the theatre. I'll never return to AMC. Thanks but no thanks. I go to the movies maybe twice a year. I will pay a little extra. Good luck. I'm sitting in celebration typing this in my seat wait for my movie to start by the way. Seats are pretty...

Very disappointed in the recent trip my fiancĆ© as I had to this AMC. They had a power outage in the morning, and we were understanding to the fact our movie was running 5-15 minutes late (more like 25-30) and that they had to run our gift card multiple times to get it to work. However, we continued to run into issues throughout the movie. We had originally ordered a popcorn, drink, and pretzel bites, however we did not know what time the movie would now start, as it was not posted. So after they tried our gift card for the third time, and we’re told it would be 5-10 minutes for the pretzel bites, I said we could just get the popcorn and drink. When we went into the theater, I went to the app to try to order the pretzel bites to our seat. Because the movie was late, even though the movie hadn’t started yet, it would not let me order past the official movie start time. So I went back out and asked if the pretzel bites could be brought to me in the theater, I was told no they would only bring it to me if I ordered through the app, I tried to explain the app situation and was still told no. I pointed out the 6 staff members behind the counter talking, and because the movie was late and we didn’t know the start time, it would be nice not to miss the movie, still told no. Fine, I waited and missed the first 5 minutes. When I got back into the theater, my fiancĆ© pointed out the lights were still on. I had already missed the first 5 minutes, and I worked at a movie theater before, someone should be in to check the movie soon, but no one did. The lights stayed on the entire film. We could see everyone, people moving around the aisles, people on their phones, teenagers running up and down the stairs every 2 minutes… At this point I did get petty, and wanted to see how long it would take for a staff member to come in and check, but it never happened. The lights were on, dimmed, the entire film. The film was not advertised as a special showing, we don’t know why no one else said anything. Don’t worry though, the lights finally turned off… as the credits started, so we got to walk out in the dark. Very disappointed and won’t be returning...

I absolutely loved this place. Although the prices were super high, I have enjoyed every movie experience since I was 8 years old. That is until my most recent visit. Normally I would let something like this slide, but I keep replaying what happened and feel I should fore warn people. After being invited to a $5 ticket Tuesday show, myself, my kid, and my friend went to the AMC theater 18 to watch Captain marvel. Btw GREAT MOVIE! Anyways, after getting our bucket of popcorn and one cup of pop we were ready for the movie. My kid and I used a sharable tray while my friend kept the bucket. And we split the popcorn. Shortly after the movie started, as I was chewing, I noticed a stringy like texture in my mouth. At first I thought oh it's my hair, seeing as how my hair was down in my face I must have chopped on some. Pulled out a short piece of hair about my length, and thought nothing more of it and continued to eat. A couple more handfuls of popcorn and I kept feeling that hairy string in my mouth. I thought maybe I just didn't get it out....wait nope I already pulled the last one out. This is a new strand, as I pulled this 5-6 inch hair out of my mouth I noticed upon further inspection it wasn't mine!! I dropped my handfuls of popcorn and showed my friend. She said she never noticed and hair in her bucket, so I immediately got up and went to the concessions stand. Unfortunately, I dropped the hair along the way and didn't have my proof. But the young lady at the counter was very professional, took my claim serious and offered a refund, along with another bucket on the house. I declined and purchased a drink. I would have gotten the drink for Free but I wanted my points. Besides this one issue, I have never had a bad experience here. And I have been coming here since I was 8. That says a lot since this place has gone under new management and use to cost a lot less. But if your looking for a great theater, this is the place to kick back and relax and enjoy the show, just be mindful of the popcorn. And their new concession food. Hair nets are not in...
