It was too hot to eat anything soupy or a hot dish. I wanted a cold entree type food. Spring rolls came to mind. My favorite place was too far and every other place that served it didn't have both shrimp and pork in it. Partner hopped on Yelp and found this place.
The parking is a little crazy, it's tight and everyone seems impatient AF. There's a lot of honking and flashing lights. LOL. Especially on a Friday night like tonight.
Thankfully, it wasn't busy until after we sat down. We ordered two spring rolls and a vermicelli dish. They're definitely on the pricier side. 2 pieces of spring rolls for almost $7. BUT they are the only restaurant that I know of in Rowland that uses green leaf, shrimp AND pork. So it was perfect in my opinion. The ratio of all three ingredients was stellar, not too much of the other. The peanut dipping sauce could use a little work, it was a bit on the sweet side in my opinion (almost like apple juice flavor). Partner also loved his dish, everything was very flavorful and delectable to the palate. The meat served with it was tender and juicy.
Overall had a great dinner experience though and definitely would come back again for the...
Read moreLocal Vietnamese eatery with some of the best fried egg rolls I’ve ever had. My sister swore by the egg rolls, so the fam came here on a Sunday for dinner around 6pm and got seated immediately. They’re open during covid for indoor dining (no outdoor options) as well as pick-up/delivery via the usual suspects. They take credit cards, and parking is available in the lot. The place had a steady stream of customers and all the tables were occupied while we were there. Masks are required.
Going back to the egg rolls (cha gio on the menu), they come piping hot and you wrap them with lettuce and can dip them in fish sauce. There’s five to an order, and you HAVE to get them. For the pho, they’re only currently serving the large size. The broth is aromatic and holds well for leftovers. I got the bun bo hue which came with a super generous amount of meat. The broth wasn’t that spicy, but it was certainly savory and tasty. There are other dishes available if you don’t want pho, but there are plenty of soup options so I’d definitely coming here for a comfort meal or on a cold / rainy day to...
Read moreI’m writing this review because I don’t agree with their 4.3 star rating. This place is definitely a 5. I’ve been coming to Pho Rowland for 8 years now. This is definitely the best pho restaurant in the Rowland area. It’s definitely as good if not better that some places in Little Saigon.
The pho is top notch. Nothing else to say here other than get your steak on the side. You then add it to your soup so that you can cook it to a nice medium or medium well. Trust me. It tastes better that way.
Their Vietnamese coffee is also amazing if you eat in. They serve it fresh fresh. Not a lot of places do this nowadays but they brew it in the traditional phin at the table. Maybe it’s nostalgia but I think it makes the coffee taste better.
Also, the soda chanh is delicious. Just try it. I’m hungover now and I’m running out of energy to write anything else so I will end my review here. Thank Pho Rowland for existing. I’m grateful you all didn’t close down during...
