Absolutely beautiful inside. Some of the food was amazing where most other Asian buffets lack I feel like they picked up. And then where things should have been better it lacked lol. Like the spicy sweet mussels or perfect. The muscles in every other dish were way overcook and shrunk in like chewing on jerky. The shrimp was overcooked in just about everything. The oysters did seem fresh but they were shucked terribly. I ate three of them and every one that I tried to eat I was pulling out broken up bits of shell from my mouth. So the manager definitely needs to keep that detail worked better. There's a solid method to shucking oysters and then there's a lazy Neanderthal way that'll have customers breaking teeth also just having a way to offer Tabasco and horseradish by the oysters would be killer. Crab was overcooked and cold. I get it if the crab was hot then it would get snatched up faster but cold crab is just such a disappointment. It's like eating cold scrambled eggs. Serving it cold anyways, So I guess I'm confused as to why it was so stuck to the shell like it was overboiled. Steam it and quickly put it on ice but if your microwaving it then that's probably why. But I mean really chances are it's probably already just frozen and precooked then microwaved and thrown on ice. Either well man you had to really dig it off the shells. I didn't get to try the Mongolian area. And the dessert area was severely lacking. That was about as stacked as one of the cheapest Chinese buffets. I'd expect more from a nicer establishment.
However with all that said it definitely offers more seafood than any other buffet in the metro area and suburbs and the price isn't bad for that. But you just need to make the seafood better. That being said the salt and pepper shrimp with the shell left on was good and the shrimp boil didn't have potatoes and lacked a lot of flavor. Bad. The pictures I saw online looked way better. The crawdads were decent, just decent... But again not like some of the other pictures I saw on here before I came
I know this place just opened up so I'm willing to give it another chance but as of right now, I'd rather still go to other places that I know. I'll check back in a month or two Because hopefully you're going to go through staff changeups and you'll have different people cooking. If they got into their groove and things are better I will 100% change my review. I want to like this place because I see what they're trying to do and they're just there almost. Adding some cooked soft shell grab in a bean sauce like the clams would be another dish I would quickly add to the buffet line. The winner on the buffet line was the flounder. Sadly every time I went there people tore it up like piranhas and every time I got to it it was just a piece of a tell and a couple heads left on there so that was disappointing I didn't get to try it.
If it wasn't for all the other failures I would have easily given this three stars because the sushi was actually pretty good. Better than any other Chinese buffet that I've been to, But even then it could have been better. 25 a person, this place should be better. I'll see you guys in a month and hope that it...
Read moreI went during the dinner buffet for a table of two we spent 58 dollars mind you if you have a child under 3 a drink isnt included for them we had to ask for a high chair or booster seat several times so id say if you think this place is toddler friendly it is not they dont have napkins at the tables which is kind of surprising due to the fact they have alot of finger foods with lots of juices like shrimp and crawfish i noticed people with small children were stuck in corners of the restaurant and your server doesnt really worry about you as much as they do the big party tables which i found extremely rude we had to ask for things several times but they would be given things on the spot even if you asked before them we were also told that they ran out of ice when brought a refill but not even 5 minutes after they brought about 6 refills for the table across from us mind you with ice i get the servers are wanting the tips especially with bigger parties like that but the small parties matter aswell just because its only a table of two or 4 doesnt mean you wont get a good tip from them and that money adds up the service was honestly terrible after being sat down by the nice lady in the blue jacket but lets talk about food some of the food was great crawfish was good and well seasoned the chow mein was nicely cooked and had great flavor and the sushi was good just a bit warm in my opinion but the crab oh god the crab was absolutely disgusting i love crab seafood is my absolute fav and thats the whole reason i even came i only ate one piece and immediately gagged and almost threw up it tasted as if it was old or was sitting out for a very long time before being cooked after trying it my appetite was nearly ruined i don't mind cold crab but i def mind old crab and it literally had the taste of dust and old my body wouldnt even let me swallow the corn on the cob looked delicious looked like it was sitting in some delicious butter but when you actually ate it it tasted like the pan it was cooked in and wasnt appetizing at all for 60$ id def want to be able to eat anything and it taste good so honestly it was disappointing to eat just those couple things and they were nasty i also def think their should be more options for desserts it's basically the same thing you can get at any other buffet like feast down the street but even they have more options for dessert overall the food was great but some of it was actually sickening the service was terrible unless you were a big party and the atmosphere was decent pretty friendly but not small children friendly which i was really disappointed about because my child deserves a seat to and not have to ask more than 3...
Read moreThis place was a huge waste of money for my family and I. The trays were empty most of the time, and when we went back 30 minutes later they were all still empty so we missed out on a lot of options. To top that off, the food was cold when we did find options. Not even my kids wanted to eat the very very limited kid options like the over cooked fries and their cheap looking and tasting chicken nuggets. The pizza tray was of course empty the entire time we were here too.
The Mongolian grill is flavorless and most of the meat trays and veggies trays and noodle trays were empty. I tried “pho” and it was so bland and the chicken was disgusting and fleshy tasting. No flavor at all. The only good thing was the sushi and even then, half of those trays were empty the whole time.
As for the service: the customer service is awful, they do not care about the customers at all and you can see it from the start. The lady taking the payments at the front when you first walk in, was not very welcoming or friendly. Our waitress did not give us our drinks until we ASKED for them after 20+ minutes of being seated and she did not offer us a high chair for our small child until we asked. My family and I will not be coming back again. You're better off going to Taste Of China off of i240 if you want good Mongolian grill or the Asian district if you want good tasting, fresh, good quality Asian food and good customer service for the price they are charging here.
I gave it 3 stars for the atmosphere because it does look cute inside but it seems like they put their money into the looks and not into their food. Their food needs more seasoning, and to taste better and they need to work on hiring better cooks and workers.
My daughter has also been throwing up all night after eating at this place. I’m positive she has food poisoning as she said her belly started hurting about an hour after eating here and...
