Long review below so giving bottom line - Warrington Location, Bad Mussels, Bad Manager Attitude
We have eaten many times at Chickie’s & Pete’s at several locations. Usually a really good experience and we always start out with Crab Fries and Mussels in White. Unfortunately, this time (Warrington, Tues, Jan 4) neither the food or service were up to par. Mussels in White came out smelling a little off. Several mussels were closed and many more barely opened. We placed those mussels in the discarded shell bowl and tried some of the ones that were open. They were not good. Told the waitress and her (surprisingly honest) reply was that another table also had returned their mussels. Eventually the manager did came over and I told him that they were bad. He looked at me and asked “So, you want a refund?” In a tone that was also not good. Obviously, I said “Yes.” He did remove the cost of the mussels but the experience with him also left a bad taste in my mouth.
Service was also off and slow. The waitress forgot one of the other items we ordered Meatball Parm sandwhich. We eventually got it but it was cold. I’m assuming the below par service is due to pandemic staffing issues.
This is the second time we’ve gotten bad mussels at this location. We have never gotten bad mussels at South Philly or Roosevelt Blvd locations. So, I think it is a quality control issue at the Warrington location that boggles the mind given that item is a key menu item.
One last thing and I don’t believe it is specific to this location. The receipt has a QR code to provide feedback. I tried. It does not easily allow you to provide feedback and that is why I am doing...
Read moreWent for lunch yesterday, during the second weekend of the yellow phase... slowdown of covid 19. Had outside dining, which was setup under a canopy... there were tables with benches in the sun, if preferenced. Table did not looked properly cleaned, because there were crumbs on it, and dried up ketchup. Did notice, while dining, the hostess spot clean a table, using a wet rag, between guest. Would have been nice to see the tables, AND chairs, being sprayed and properly wiped down between guest. (I have eaten at 1 other restaurant, post covid, and saw they did a much better, and thorough, job with cleanliness between guest, which is important post covid... but this seems to be a management issue...) They have QR codes on the tables, which you scan to bring up the menu. Wait staff were wearing mask and gloves, and everyone was friendly. I understand, post pandemic, there is a learning curve to prevent the spread of covid... with that being said, our waitress would clear dishes from a guest table, then place them on the tray, with items she was bringing to our table... cross contamination very likely. (I asked for a to go box, which she handed me, but had dishes from another table resting on top of my box... she handed me 2 boxes, so I used the one underneath the box that touched the dirty dishes. She was trying to multitask between guest, to save herself trips back and forth, which I get, but that practice isn't good post covid). Otherwise, my meal was good... and the experience was still pleasant. Management really needs to be more visible, in dining area, to ensure proper hygiene is being taken, and correct...
Read moreLast night, my wife and I went to the the restaurant in Warrington and arrived around 11-1130. Bar was a bit crowded so we took a seat at the side bar, where I had to walk over to the bar to order a drink.
I'm standing over at the bar and the bar tender Justin walks over, says hello asks me what want and I order a Blue moon for my self and a Grey Goose Dirty Martini for my wife. So the stupid bartender repeats the martini order 3 times with me to confirm. He walks off for 5 minutes, walks back behind the bar and pours my beer, walks past me and says he'll be right back and disappears for another 5 minutes and comes back over and tells me I appear intoxicated and that he can serve me. I replied that I haven't even had a drink yet and he tells me my eyes seam cloudy and he's not serving me.
The problem was him running all over behind the bar all COKED UP and couldn't remember the drink I ordered so he accused me of being intoxicated. They say the accuser is usually the doer
I didn't want to make a screen I been up since 630am running my business all day and was tired so I just told my wife he's not serving me that I am so called intoxicated and she was lime how we haven't even had a drink yet. I said yeah I know let's go I'll email Joe Carpinella and coming to him and then I told her who you were.
I just want to let you know that I was disappointed with my visit there last night and that bartender embarrassed me in front of other patrons and I hope you take this email serious and have a nice word with that employee.
We will also not be returning to that particular Chicky and...
