Four of us were in there for breakfast at Turning Point. We had a 30 minute wait so I decided to get one of the 5 things on the chill menu. I ordered a Mocha Espresso Shake-a-chino. Which had Espresso, frozen hot chocolate, chocolate chips and ice chips. Simple. I saw her making one with ice cream, so I assumed that wasn't mine. Two gentlemen asked about what she was making and she told them the ingredients, which included ice cream. So again, I assumed it wasn't mine. Then, when they called the order out, she handed me the one she had just made with ice cream. So....I asked, if this had ice cream. The young lady replied yes, that's what you ordered. I politely said, "well on the board, it says that it has frozen hot chocolate, not ice cream." She said, oh, ok. Well, do you want me to remake it, or do you just want this? I said, yes, please, remake it. Then her and the other young lady were talking back and forth, almost whispering about me asking for the drink I ordered. So, the second young lady made the drink now. And calls out..."frozen hot chocolate." So I ask....is this mine? She said yes. Frozen hot chocolate. And I politely said, well, this isn't what I ordered. I ordered the mocha espresso shake a chino. Which then I was told was the first one with ice cream. I pointed to the board and said....well...that's not what it says up there. They both stared at the board and had no idea what I was asking for. And then, again, said...well we can make it with the chocolate chips, if you want. I felt like I was going crazy or something. Yes...I would like my $5.25 coffee drink (plus the $1 tip I gave beforehand), the way I ordered...which is exactly how it is written on the board. I changed nothing and asked for no special ingredients. At the very least, an apology would have been nice. Instead I was made to feel like I was wrong and talked about under their breath. I will note two things now. 1. I would have said something to the manager at the time...but that manager passed by me 3 or 4 times while I was waiting at the register to order and didn't even acknowledge me, not a "someone will be right with you," are you being helped", nothing. So I thought...what's the point? 2. While eating at the turning point, I noticed that the drink I had ordered that was on the board at cowabunga, wasn't on the menu of the turning point. So maybe both sides, the restaurant and the coffee shop need to get on the same page. But still, what I ordered was a drink on the board where they worked. It should have been right.
Customer service may not seem to be important these days, but in a place like valley square, where the eating establishment turnover is high, this place may want to consider retraining, both...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I were here 10/26/24, and ordered 2 iced mocha lattes. We then waited around 20 minutes listening to another barista and what we assumed to be the manager be extremely rude to what seemed to be a new barista. They also answered a phone call about someone requesting a big order of pancakes for 10 people and then yapped about that for a bit before finally looking at my girlfriend and remembering we spent $12 for 2 coffees 20 minutes ago. She then whipped up our drinks in 2 minutes (probably drip coffee instead of espresso) and they tasted like burnt, flavorless bean water. Save your money, go literally...
Read moreOrdered an iced chai with oat milk here multiple times. It was only on my last visit they told me it can never be made with oat milk, because their chai drinks are already made ahead with dairy. All this time I’ve been ordering chais under the assumption they have no dairy. I don’t understand how their staff takes my order mentioning oat milk, without telling me that crucial piece of...
