We have heard great things about this restaurant and have been wanting to try it! Sometimes when I have passed by the restaurant, it has been very busy even on weekdays. This restaurant is by the rotary across from Cumberland Farms. We did notice the sign is right above the entrance on the black awning and next to Captain's Catch. However, there does not appear to be an actual sign by the road. The parking lot is a little on the smaller side too.
I called on a Sunday to ask if reservations were needed to arrive at 5:30pm and they said we should be okay. When we arrived it was nice to see they already set aside a table for us with a high chair as we had our baby with us. The decor inside the restaurant is nice with a rustic feel. For appetizers, we had the arancini balls (3) which were a special and delicious. We also had the eggplant, ricotta, herbs, pomodoro, and basil which was layered with eggplant and tasty. We also had the meatballs (3), pomodoro, ricotta and basil which were very flavorful and soft.
For my entree I chose the gnocchi alla sorrentina, pomodoro, cream, mozzarella, pecorino and basil which was simple and tasty. The gnocchi was very soft and tender but I wish there was more cheese.
My husband got the breaded veal cutlet, pizzaiola pomodoro, sharp provolone, eggplant, broccoli rabe and basil which was really crispy and flavorful.
My father in law got a ravioli special with ricotta and mushroom which he enjoyed but the portion was much more on the smaller side. None of these portions are huge by any means but certainly enough to fill you up.
All desserts are homemade - so we had to try them! For dessert, I had the olive oil cake, lemon curd, berry and vanilla gelato which was very tasty and a perfect balance of all ingredients. My husband had the affogoto: illy espresso and vanilla gelato which was good but a small portion. My father in law had the flourless chocolate tartufo, salted caramel, hazelnut, and candied orange which was very rich and delicious. All presentations of our dishes were very nice.
It was also nice to see that they provide a take out service too for ones who want their meals to go. If anyone ordered for pick up, they would just go to the bar to grab their order. The restaurant is really nice but has limited space so I would recommend reservations. We did notice there were no prices on their desserts which is sort of odd but more upscale. Also, the prices at this restaurant I felt were higher for what you would find in this area. Pricing is more comparable to a restaurant in Providence for some reason. Service was good and the atmosphere was great and clean! The food was delicious even though the portions are not large. Pricing is okay. Overall, we would certainly come back here for another meal! So if you're looking for a new Italian place in the area, come...
Read moreWhat a way to end a Birthday Celebration time away ... While traveling back from CT, we decided we wanted Italian. After watching an older 🎥 movie (Big Night '96 film staring Tony Shalhoub and Stanley Tucci) we have been craving AUTHENTIC Italian. We found it! 🍝 From the moment we stepped inside we knew we were in a unique restaurant. We were warmly greeted and seated. Toni came over and welcome us. We asked for her recommendations. We went with them. 🥖🧄🧈 We started with their made daily FOCCACIA half. It was presented on a rustic cutting board with oil, house made butter and a garlic paste. This bread does NOT compare to anything we have ever had before. It was crunchy, airy, tasty and divine. 🍆 Toni recommend we pair it with the EGGPLANT appetizer. This is not something we would ordinarily order, but we decided to go ALL IN. The sauce was hands down the BEST POMODORO we have ever had. It had fresh basil, garlic & ricotta. 🍅🧀🍝 For our main course we once again, trusted Toni. My wife got the BUCATINI with CACIO E PEPE sauce & BURRATA. She added their housemade sausage. 😋🙃💥💯 The sausage was outstanding. Loved the herbs and flavor explosions in our mouth. The CACIO E PEPE sauce was delectable, peppery and oh so satisfying. 😇 For my main course ( besides enjoying my wife's) I again went with Toni's recommendation and got the GNOCCHI ALLA SORRENTINA in the epic POMODORO sauce. I have never had Gnocchi before. They were light and heavenly. They tasted like little angel kisses. 🍮 For dessert Toni Testified To us about the BUTTERSCOTCH BUDINO.... In the words of Janice "Oh, My Gawd!" (Friends Reference) This deliciously decadent dessert was like love in a mason Jar. Pecans, Toffee, Carmel, cocoa crumbles on top of housemade pudding....to die for!! 🎁 Each course was Epically crafted, created and presented with 💕 Love. 😊 We will definitely...

They handled the situation very poorly from a professional point of view. They were going to make her pay for it until she mentioned it. They offered her a salad in lieu of what happen. This was resolving the situation to the staff and manager. Then they charged her for the salad. She exclaimed, I am not paying for this salad. They took it off the bill with the fish. However, my aunt dining with her which could not eat after seeing the parasite and worms.
They were both utterly grossed out and felt sick to her stomach. When my aunt mentioned to not pay the whole bill at all For health safety reasons, the waitress snub her with no response.
They should not have charged them anything after such gross error and no food safety. They both left feeling sick to their stomach, plus my cousin is pregnant, which could have caused issues for the unborn.
This place is overrated and overpriced too. It's gone downhill since opening. I'm not sure what the hype is about this place. People who don't know good food, I guess.
My cousin has sent a nice email graciously asking for refund, it took two days to get a response with a totally twisted interpretation of the event and felt their staff responded properly.
Any manager in the restaurant business with integrity would have credited the whole meal
If it were me, I would have left and not paid a dime.
See for yourself in pictures. Worms...
