Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Washington Township

Service was good and the food was good. Never had an empty drink and the waitress was polite. My only issue was it was raining outside and several smokers were smoking right outside the front door under the roof and you had to fight through them to get into the restaurant as they really didn't care to move even with me carrying a 2 & 3 year old. We came really close to not going in at all. It was mentioned to the manager when she asked if everything was good with our visit, so we will see if it happens again.

5/23/22 update I stopped in for dinner with my daughter after going to the baseball field. They weren't very busy, but had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table due to staff shortage. We put in our drink order after a few minutes, but it took a really long time to get the drinks and the food order. When the food came out, it was fine. Things were just a bit slow. Raised rating to 3 stars.

Impressive service across the couple visits made here this month alone, while the atmosphere is relaxed it’s a fine feeling to combat the blistering heat ongoing though preferably would like a cool breeze. The service was quite good as both Keira and Kaysha were quite engaging much more than the average server allowing for satisfactory small talk enriching the experience demonstrating excellent management of the fast-paced environment. The food overall across both services was delightful despite my interest in ribs/riblets decreasing a bit during my first visit as the kitchen served a burnt portion but was quickly remedied to where I’d advise to simply consume the Chicken Tenders and Boneless Wings should you pursue the AYOC Promotion going forward as even the “fresh” set was lacking personally. Now while I cannot control the natural disturbance of flies flocking around us mid-meal, things like this make it difficult to give 5* but I will say this.

On March 25, 2025, I ordered takeout from this restaurant, specifically the Tex-Mex Shrimp Bowl, with a request to remove the chimichurri sauce. However, when I got home, I discovered that the meal was covered in chimichurri sauce and the shrimp were ice cold.

I attempted to call the restaurant multiple times but was unable to get through. Since I live far away, returning to the restaurant wasn’t a practical option. Unfortunately, my wife, who originally ordered the meal, couldn’t eat it due to the spiciness of the chimichurri sauce, so we had to switch meals.

Dining out or ordering takeout isn’t cheap these days, and we were looking forward to an enjoyable evening. Instead, the mistake turned what should have been a relaxing meal into a frustrating experience.

I understand that mistakes happen, and I take responsibility for not checking the order before leaving. However, I wanted to bring this to the restaurants attention in case there’s a way to improve order accuracy...
