Cafe China — Restaurant in Washington Township

I love this place food is amazing! I usually order after my shift a atleast once or twice a month for about 2 years now. (He did not seem that familiar tho so maybe he has not seen me either and maybe he didnt know how often i order and pick up after my shift next door.) But one shift I ordered too late online and they were apparently closed and I didn't realize, I was surprised that my order had went through when i saw that their door was closed after I went to go grab it. But for some reason I was charged on my card, i have bank proof, but did not get email receipts which was also weird. 2 days later I was back for another shift so I stopped by and told them what happened and asked them if I could either get the order or get a refund and apologized for the weird situation. He would not believe me or my proof and said that is impossible for the order to go through past business hours. I agreed that it surprised me. I am a frequent customer and wouldn't try to randomly come in and fake an order for free food, plus i have the proof that I was charged. He was very upset with me, he told me he did not know what to do, he said he could not refund me and he eventually said he would make the order but clearly was not happy about it and didn't want to. I tried to make it clear that I just wanted to do what was easier for him, I was not trying to be a bother but obviously like anyone I'm not going to let my money disappear for nothing so I was trying to work something out but he made it so uncomfortable and I felt so bad for the people waiting in the restaurant and everyone stopped and was listening to us and he wouldn't let me talk so he wasn't understanding the situation and I just felt so bad. I am so embarrassed because I am a frequent customer and I love this place and I can't believe he was telling me to my face that I was lying. I was showing him proof of the money taken from his restraunt on my bank app. But he said he would need to call his bank to see if I'm really telling the truth, so i said ok and i would wait and then he got defensive about running a restraunt and didnt have time for all that and thats fine and understandable but i was confused because that's what he was telling me he needed to do.. i was just trying to make the whole thing simple and calm. I just didn't wanna waste my money, I truly meant well and I just felt ridiculed instead and just feel so disappointed in the expierence I really loved this restraunt and their staff 😭 I even told him I would come next week and check in to see if he checked with his bank and that I would call mine too and if they determined the money really never did go through then I would pay again but he sent me on my way with the order. I'm thankfully I did get my moneys worth, but Idk, I guess just very disappointed that one of my favorite restaurants accused me of lying to get a free meal. Food is great but don't be like me and make sure you check their hours before ordering because their system will take and charge you for the order, but I guess won't send a receipt and put the order in their system and they are under the impression that their website doesn't make this mistake so just be careful. It's fine that it happened, I am just so upset about how he handled it the whole place was extremely uncomfortable and the way he was talking to me and not trying to understand what happened made it seem like I was trying to be difficult but I really just wanted to fix the issue, was not even upset about what happened, just upset how it was handled this way 😢 I work in food service as well and even if something seemed off or strange, I would NEVER accuse a calm, frequent, kind customer of straight up lying and leave them standing their saying "I don't know, I don't know what to do about this." He just made me feel so bad infront of so many people, yet none of what happened was...

I wish I could give them negative stars. Worst customer service EVER!! I called in a to go order and was told 20 min. Arrived 20 min later, and the man, I believe he is the owner, couldn't seem to find my order. They never take phone numbers or names with to go orders to begin with, so he kept asking what I ordered, as he kept hitting his computer screen. All of a sudden he acted like he found the order and said it wasn't ready yet and took my payment. I waited 20 MORE minutes, as people cane and left with their to go food. I believe the girl on the phone forgot to put in my order and the owner lied about it. They didn't say anything else to me, didn't seem fussed about it at all, and finally just handed me my food without one word. I'm not one to complain in restaurants, so I just left. My boyfriend was mad enough to call back and speak to the staff. The girl gave us a quick "we are busy" and handed the phone to the owner. The owner said the same thing. We brought up the fact that we believed they only put the order in when I arrived, he denied it and said "sometimes it's like 40 min when we are busy". Then we asked why they wouldn't just tell people 40 min when they call, and he HUNG UP ON US!!! We tried calling back and they let us go to voicemail. Their food is mediocre at best anyway.
