Perimeter Center — Local services in Washington Township

I love the center of the perimeter. Just think of the math implications of the name. The center of the perimeter! Mind blowing!

Ok, so the shops. You've got the UPS store, which is not actually a store where you can buy a UPS for your computer. They ship stuff at great prices and with excellent customer service. But don't sell any UPS units. False advertising? That's for you to decide.

You've got Enterprise. They rent cars. No Star Trek stuff at all. Missed opportunity, that.

You've got places to eat. Rusty Bucket and all that.

You've got a Giant Eagle. Didn't even get me started on that store. Not even one live bird. Only dead chickens. And turkeys. No eagles. But they do want a copy of your driver's license to get their best prices. Um, what? No thank you.

Now that we've established that this is a shopping area, note that the perimeter is where the shops are, so the center must be in the parking lot. I've reviewed a few parking lots on my day, but none have a center like this one. Like, whoah. The center here is so, uh, centric. Right in the middle of the whole perimeter. You can't really get more centered than the center of the perimeter.

Just like everything else in Dublin, it's a nice shopping center that is impossible to get into because of the labyrinth of service roads, curbs, shrubs and hills that are all located in stupid places - most notably places where one would expect a drive way to be. Parking area is planned to accommodate about 25% too many vehicles making the lanes too narrow and the parking spaces also too narrow. Same gymnastics and maze solving abilities required to get out of the parking area as to get in. Nice variety of stores and restaurants, it's just a shame it's hindered by...

The Perimeter Center has energy, I'll give you that. There are no boarded up storefronts here in this popular Dublin strip center on Avery Muirfield. The Center offers a nice mix of retailers from a grocer adding the right touch of services for this upscale neighborhood to restaurants and yes, even a UPS Store for shipping. Inevitably I end up parking a ways from the store I am visiting but that is an indicator of this location's well-deserved success and hey, a little walking never...
