This week (really, this whole month) has been a tough one mentally. Tonight, I needed a reset — a chance to step away from the “mess” and just breathe. So, Johnathan and I went to one of our favorite spots: 1906 Bistro.

He’s all about the brownies, I’m all about the sandwiches (honestly, the whole menu is fantastic) — and every single time we go, the experience is the same: kindness, consistency, and quality. That combination is rare in the restaurant industry, yet this team delivers it every time.

My husband is picky — he almost never leaves a restaurant saying, “That was ALL good.” But tonight, he did. That says everything.

I truly hope the owners know what an incredible staff they have. It’s rare to find a team that delivers 100% of the time, and that has been our consistent experience at 1906 Bistro.

Tonight, we laughed, we ate, we enjoyed dessert, and — for a little while — the weight of the world lifted. Joy was found. 💚

We got here around 2:45 on a Sunday afternoon, we walked in and told to sit anywhere. (Only 3 other people there at the time and 2 guests walked in after we had sat.) We picked a high top table against the window. We were brought waters and menus and then forgotten about for quite some time. We finally ordered drinks and a sandwich with the bartender that came back to the table. Our food and drinks were delivered in a timely manner but then we had been forgotten about and not checked in on until our drinks were empty and food was gone and from across the bar we were asked " you still doing okay?" We had originally decided to order another round but since it took so long we decided to just get our check and leave. The server/bartender that was waiting on us dissappeared as we sat for another 20 min waiting for our check. We had to get up and ask the bartender to pay. The sandwich we ordered was hot and flavorful but wouldn't return...

My first time ever coming here was yesterday 5/15/25 I didn't actually go inside, my friend had already been here & said let's sit outside and she let a waitress know we were outside. My first impression was WOW Charnelle is a top-notch waitress !!!! She was very nice and had a smile on her face every time I looked at her. She was knowledgeable about the drinks 🍸 I had an espresso martini for the first time ever, and it was amazing. I even asked for a towel to put on the plastic outside seats cause I wore shorts & my legs were sweating, I wasn't sure if she would care or get me one. She smiled and walked inside & came back out with 2 small bar towels for me and my friend 🧡 she was awesome the whole time. The food is also very good.
