My daughter and son-in-law had their wedding ceremony at Festival Park. It was beautiful! We loved the scenery surrounding the gazebo. We were a little worried about the parking for a large wedding but it didn’t seem to be a problem. While the wedding party took pictures we had large yard games, an ice cream stand and a photo booth for the guest to enjoy before the reception which was held at the Civic Center. We are so thankful for how helpful the staff were to work with at the Park and Civic Center. Photography by Geri Simpkins and...

Just a perfect spot on the Pamlico River in a beautiful town called Washington NC. This relaxing park is named after its late great mayor Mac Hodges. One of many tributes to him in this wonderful town. Some of the nicest people and some of the most amazing scenery in the state exist in this town and surrounding areas. Do yourself a favor and visit this town and walk it's streets, shop, eat, and engage with it's people. You'll truly be glad you found this little jewel, and you may even be better off for it at the end of your...

Excellent area for dining, walking on the Riverwalk, and a small playground for children. A boardwalk also allows for a beautiful walk by the river so you can see wildlife and a variety of boats. Nice wine shop, places to get ice cream and a couple of breweries allow something for everyone. Pet friendly (with leash). The NC Estuarium is located here as well for an excellent...

Celebration of life, love and living...a small town with big heart, mother nature at it's finest glory..cute fur babies and lively county music...pristine,peaceful and playful place....young at heart and old in traditions. Kudos to city and all hard working people...who make a visit here a lasting memory. Grace and glory of power divine.

The town of Washington has done an excellent job of developing a beautiful waterfront park, named for Mac "Bear" Hodges. It well maintained, has interesting sites and it right along the river leading out into the sound. the area also contains a very nice staffed visitor center, and the NC Estuarium. Plenty of boats to look at too!
