My wife and I stayed at the Little Inn on Main two nights. There was a lot to like, with only one head-scratching disappointment. It is a fairly-priced room in a row of rooms just off Main Street in Washington, N.C. Exit through a private red door at the end of the row and you are standing on Main Street. Nice. And the door has a code to insure privacy. The rooms have coded locks; much nicer than a key or card. Indeed, our room had modern features in all the key places—the bathroom mirror was the best I have ever experienced. It was a ‘smart’ mirror. You could adjust brightness and tone as well as the lit white frame. The air conditioner was the newer energy-saving wall units being used in modern buildings the heat/cool individual spaces. It took awhile to adjust the swing blades to keep it from blowing on my head all night. Modern, with an antique bed with crisp sheets and feather pillows. Nice again. Now the big oversight—no easy chair in the room. Either sit upright in one of the two chairs without armrests, or lie in the bed when you were in the room. I know a full-sized recliner won’t work, but there needs to be a relaxing chair. Overall, much to like her in a room that you secure...
Read moreWe stayed in the Pamlico Room (#101). The "Inn" is a series of rooms opening off a single corridor that extends from the parking lot to a door in front that opens to Main St. Our ground floor room was the one closest to this door. The door banged loudly every time people entered from or exited to Main St. We were woken numerous times by the main door banging so loud that our own room's door shook. The room itself was nice and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The AC worked well, which was good because it was VERY hot and humid during our stay. There is no central sitting or gathering area or check-in area, and no concierge, etc. here. Check in and check out is done via an email link received on my smart phone. I am not even sure how one would check in if they did not have a smartphone...perhaps in the coffee shop next-door which is owned/operated by the Inn's proprietor. We would probably not stay here again. At just over $200 for our stay (including taxes), we did not feel that this Inn stay was...
Read moreThis is an absolute Gem. There is nothing negative to say about the Little Inn at Washington. I was in Washington, NC for only one night but it was the first of many in the future. Located in the heart of the downtown everything is within walking distance. Anytime I need a room in Washington this is the only Inn I will consider. 2nd Review: this is an addendum to my first review. Like a fine wine, the Little Inn gets better with time. My second stay there was even better than the first! I had time to meet the staff and must unequivocally say they are the finest, friendliest and most accommodating people imaginable. After checking out of my room, Zooey, a staff member saw me lugging my trunks down the street. She stopped me, returned with a golf cart, and drove me to the marina! She even carried a chest to the boat. Again, I reiterate, this is the only Inn I will consider in Washington and will gladly recommend to my...
