We drove from Charleston,SC to watch our Grandchildren perform with Solina Dance. The theater is located in beautiful downtown Washington,NC in the historic area and not difficult at all to find. Although there were many people in the lobby, the line moved quickly and the staff was upbeat and friendly. Once inside, theater is well kept, beautifully decorated and cozy. There was plenty of parking in the rear of the building which is truly a plus. We really enjoyed watching our Grandchildren perform here and cannot wait to visit again.

I host a spoken word here every month "second verse" I am delighted that The Arts council is trying to be more diverse and inclusive bc it has not traditionally been as inviting to POC. They are growing in me but we will see if they keep it up! If you're in town on The 2nd Friday of the month, come on down to 2nd verse!

Little Washington, NC as it is affectionately known in Eastern Carolina has a jewel in its vibrant and growing downtown, Turnage Theater. You will truly enjoy an activity in this wonderful venue if have the privilege to do so.

We go for church on Sundays. Great service and great children's program. We have also gone for separate musical and local art events. I highly recommend this as a cultural aspect for the community. But more so recommend Harbor Church which is a fairly new church with something for the entire family. Normal services are done like an extended bible study that utilizes all versions of the bible from King James, New International also then amplified versions that allow for more understanding of God's word. The main preacher was tbe founder of tbe Bridge radio station and everyone make you from your very first visit. Church typical starts at 10:30 children's church breaks off to go to their area around 10:45am. The kids love their activities and lessons. During the summer they were do church cook out at a local park for the church awareness where if you feel let to, bring a side dish or deserts and additional items. This is a great wat to meet the church family and a safe environment for the family and kids to eat and fellowship. I have been to many churches and many denominations...this is the first time where me and my young son as well as my parents have truly found a...

Remarkable! I saw this theatre prior to the restoration project. There are no words for how she was left to rot & crumble. It was horribly sad. Thankfully, they did an amazing job bringing her back to life! Plus, we can't lose sight of how crucial the arts are to our society & for our children. The Turnage Theatre truly does a great job in keeping the arts alive. I just saw Ethan Wolf's Willy Wonka via a youth camp they held. Those kids did a wonderful job under his leadership. Kudos...
