Akai Japan — Restaurant in Washington

My husband and I wanted to put in an order of sushi first while we look at the menu to figure out what we wanted. We told the guy what kind we wanted and not even 10 seconds later asking if we knew what we wanted because he had to put it all on the same ticket. So we felt rushed to order. Well even after ordering the sushi first it came out after we got our food. Then when I paid and left a tip the woman went to the other two employees up front talking about the tip almost as if she was disgusted with what I left. Needless to say I could care less...

Food is good and hot. The menu needs work. It does nothing to explain what you're getting. What you get is NOT Japanese food. You'll get meat separated from the rice and veggies. It's not mixed together like chop suey. There is no sushi (as my Google search led me to believe). No tempayana, tempura, or any other dish. It's ALL hibachi style their way...which is cooked in the back and brought to you.

I am so glad I decided to try this place. After numerous different Japanese restaurants i had given up. All others around the area were pricey, under cooked, and very small servings for what you will pay. This place is AFFORDABLE, and gives more then enough for what you pay for. The food is delicious and always cooked to perfection! The staff is always very nice and welcoming. I have been in, on their busiest of days and still in and out in minutes. My absolute FAVORITE Japanese place around...
