I visited this café this past weekend with my mom and son. I googled places to eat in the area prior to our day trip to the area. My son and I had the pepperoni pizza with French fries and orange juice and cranberry juice for a drink. As well as a slice of chocolate cake and lemon cake. My mom had a chicken Ceasar salad. The cleaning staff and staff at the Gelato and espresso counter were friendly and helpful. However, the food servers seemed pretty stand-off ish. My son & I pizza were cold, we ended up sitting way over but the waterfall/ window so walking back to have it reheated would have been a task. Also, I only took two bites of my chocolate cake, it lacked any richness. I will say that my mom's salad looked great and she ate most of it so I'd say it tasted okay. Her and I were both shocked by the bill of $75. Overall, I would not visit this place again...

This was a fantastic place to sit and rest my aching dogs (feet) in a quiet and aesthetic with nice and simple treats and drinks available for refreshment. If you need to catch up and sit for a little while this is one of the very best places to do so, along with the rooftop Cafe and the more modern section of the national gallery. Of course, you should be prepared to pay about 50% more than you would pay outside of these buildings because, of course, all the museums on the mall charge much more than they should for simple treats. I guess this is how they make up for the free entry fees. In the long run it's...

SO EXPENSIVE. Never coming here again. I got a very minimal amount of food for almost $20. It was not worth it. I waited at least 20 minutes in line for frozen pizza that burned my mouth. The reason it took so long was because the lady working was cutting off the crust of the Pizza! My friend told her that she'd like crust and the lady LAUGHED at her and gave her a scrap of the crust. Every line took forever and they had very minimal options. Fruit cup was $7 and wasn't even good. Tiny salad was $12! Tables were not cleaned and the only highlight was the pop because it...

Last time I visited the Cascade Cafe was over ten years ago with Mom. At the time the food was reataurant level food and they gave discounts to government employees. We had a proper meal. Today....not so good. I had skipped breakfast so I did order a lost. But the Spicy Italian sandwich was not spicy, the Cola cost four dollars PER can, on the other hand the cake and chips were good. But it cost too much. Even for museum food. This was art museum food I guess. I guess you're paying for the atmosphere?

I was very disappointed today. I've been here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed sitting by the waterfall while I eat. Unfortunately, today the food was cold. I thought I would get something warm, so I've got the chicken fingers and fries basket. Did not work out well. I also really like it when they give you a little cup put your catsup and other sauces in. Yes, I am one of those people that does not want to put their sauce directly on their food. The pumpkin pie was good though.
