Tried to order the Greek salad with no feta cheese (I don’t eat dairy) and they said they can’t do that because it’s already made so I settled for a fruit cup. Then I ordered a cold brew (on their menu), they didn’t have cold brew. So I ordered a latte with oat milk. They don’t have oat milk available (also was on their menu). So I settle for a soy milk latte. When I receive my coffee the barista told me she used almond milk because she only had a small amount of soy milk at the bar, I told her I asked for oat or soy, not almond (preference) and almond isn’t even on there menu. She had to get a fresh carton of soy milk and remade my latte with the correct milk, which was fine. It was a lot of huff and puff for just trying to get a quick snack/bite while visiting the museums. It also cost $34 for a small latte, 2 sparkling waters, fruit cup and a small Turkey sandwich. I think they should update their menu or try to have their menu items in stock, because I went during the week and it was not busy at all. Can’t imagine it during the...
Read moreThe garden café at the National Gallery of Art offers a beautiful and serene environment, allowing the perfect break for a visit to the museum. However, the food was less satisfying in its portion size. I had a quiche, which was really nice, but honestly, compared to the price, it was really, really tiny. It is served with a mountain of salad but doesn't taste good at all, which was kind of a letdown. My brother took the daily soup and enjoyed it, but it was quite small. The food, all in all, was a 3/5, good taste but portions too small for the price. At least the iced tea was refreshing, and the personnel are overly friendly; that brightens things up a bit. If you fancy a light snack in a nice environment, have a go at this café, although don't expect...
Read moreProbably the worst experience of my entire trip to DC. The food wasn’t very good, the drinks were the worst I’ve literally ever had, and they forgot my friends food even after being reminded multiple times. Ordered the hot matcha lattes: the matcha was still in chunks of powder when drinking and it was barely warm. Hot chocolate: it was 2 sips worth of actual drink and the rest was foam. The muffins were dry, but the other pastries were good. The courses we got were the curry chicken and flatbread which weren’t bad, but for the cost of the water to wash anything down with going anywhere else is more worth...
