Fat Zacks is some amazing food. I've been going to this place since it was just a food truck/trailer down by the post office in Puyallup. I remember meeting the owner several times ordering the Original Fat-Zach Pizza. It's always been high quality ingredients and delicious pizza. I was worried that would change when he became bigger and opened up a brick-and-mortar in Puyallup but that place is great, and this place being the second place that he's opened I was also worried but it turns out it's still really good food. So if you're looking for some delicious pizza with quality ingredients that's wood fired this is definitely a good place to go. For this location It's a bunch of kids that he has working for him so they don't have the best work ethic (goofing off and not really being customer oriented as in no smiles no greeting no upbeat vibes just kids toiling away making pizza like they are miserable)
and they don't make food near as good as when he was doing it on the street But it's still delicious.
This location offers canned alcohol and tap alcohol which is kind of cool if you're into drinking, I brought some friends there to experience Fat Zach's and I don't drink myself but they couldn't get alcohol because there was nobody there that was over 21 to serve it.
So in summation if you want some absolutely delicious Wood Fired Pizza fat Zachs on Meridian is a great place to go. If you're hoping to get alcohol with your pizza you're likely not to get it even if it's available. If you're hoping to have a super upbeat friendly customer oriented crew working there you're likely not to see it. But again if you just want some delicious pizza definitely go there just don't look at the miserable kids making the pizza or try to make a joke or talk to them to make them smile because it doesn't work . But all four times that I've been in there in the past two months the person attending the register at least definitely has their customer...
Read morePlaced an order on 5/17 at around 5:30 pm for 3 pizzas and a sugar daddy. I just assumed that when you order it, the default pickup time is ASAP (most places are between 30-45 minutes) so when I placed the order I headed downtown. Got down there, looked at the confirmation email to see estimated time of pickup and it said 12:05 pm for the following day. I called and spoke to someone on the phone and they said "Yeah, that's an issue we've been having. If you want, we can start making it now and it'll be ready in about an hour and a half." I told the guy no, I didn't want the pizza and to just cancel my order. But I thought if it's an issue you are aware you're having, why wouldn't you call the person who placed the order to see if they actually wanted it the day after or if it was a system issue and it messed up the pickup time? Fast forward to today (2 days after the initial order) I notice that my credit card was charged $73.50! I canceled the order and they still charged me! I called up and asked to speak with a manager and the guy who answered the phone stated that he was in fact the manager. I told him the situation and that I was charged for an order I had canceled before it was made. He put me on hold for a couple minutes and told me that I had two options. I could either come in and they could make the order for me for free (meaning he wouldn't charge us a second time for the meal...which means that it isn't "free") or I needed to call up their credit card servicing company and tell them I was charged for an order that I cancelled, making me jump through hoops to get my money back on THEIR mess up. From what I hear, the pizza is good but I'll never know because this incident has soured me on ever trying to go back there. It's insane that a company can charge you after canceling the order and their excuse is "Sorry about that. It was pretty busy and we must...
Read moreUpdate 14 Aug 22- You CAN NOT order online at the South Hill location. They DO take orders over the phone. Man, who knew you could put pickles on a pizza? I was already a fan when I opened the box and seen what looked to be something more like our alley type of pizza. Then I tried my personal pizza, the MAMA RITA and it was really good. The sauce, cheese and the herbs were all proportions well. The crust was thin and perfect. I’m happy at this point. I then tried my wife’s pizza, the #NBD. Ladies and gentlemen, something amazing happened, I found my new bestie! It’s a 10in personal pizza that come with 8 slices. If you like to eat, get a few pizzas!! It has sliced pickles on top with a drizzle. It’s a must try!! Now the restaurant. It’s large and well thought out use of space. Well! They have a large table for a large party on one side of the restaurant and tables on the other side. Again very well thought out. It seems like the perfect place to host a work lunch or party…IDK! Super cool vibes from the lady at the register. They do sell alcoholic beverages, but they are limited to bottled beers and hard cider in cans (which is very good), beers on tap and I think I saw wine in a can?!? I can’t think of a reason why you wouldn’t want to try this place out. Don’t let “I don’t eat pizza “ be the excuse, I’m sure you’ll find something on the menu. Welcome to the...
