We came here for a birthday dinner and left raving about the experience. The food, the service and the atmosphere were excellent.
A lot of restaurants in Crystal City seem to cater to out-of-towners or the office crowd, but La Posada feels different. It’s warm, welcoming, and clearly wants to be part of the community. You can tell they’re trying to create a space where locals feel at home.
When we arrived for an early dinner, the place wasn’t busy with just three other families but the service was warm and attentive. The staff, especially our waitresses, were friendly and gave great recommendations.
We started with the ceviche, which was beautifully presented and super refreshing. I do wish the portion was a little larger, but the flavors were on point; bright, zesty, and well-balanced.
The real star, though, was the Chimichurri Argentino. WOW. My mom and I both ordered it, and we were blown away. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked. And that chimichurri sauce was next level. I think it might be a new addition to the menu, because we didn’t see it mentioned in older reviews.
My dad had the Lechoncito Calle 8, and even though he was hesitant about the restaurant at first, he ended up loving it. The presentation was beautiful, and the dish came with sweet plantains, rice, and flavorful lechon. He left impressed and that says a lot!
My brother had the Patriot Burger, and for someone who never finishes his food, he ate the whole thing. It must’ve been really good!
For dessert, I tried the tres leches…when I say this was light, delicate, and not overly sweet…I mean it. Some places overbake the cake and drench it in milk to compensate, but not here. This was done right.
The manager, Samuel, stopped by to check on us and was genuinely kind. He also mentioned they host family functions, which is great to know. It’s clear they’re invested in making this a local favorite and if they keep this up, they’ll absolutely succeed.
My dad joked that he has no business in Crystal City anymore, but now he has a reason to come back besides the airport lol. I agree. We’ll definitely be returning. Huge thanks to my wife for...
Read moreWe were staying at the Hyatt in Crystal City hoping to be lucky and find a Mexican restaurant nearby. WOW - did we! La Posada (The Inn in English) exceeded our expectations across the board.
They just opened in the last month and we knew they ‘might’ be working their kinks out. Well - we were definitely off base. They were a well oiled machine like they had been open years with a modern ambiance with touches of Mexican design in the tile and woodwork.
They were professional, provided top service as well as most importantly incredibly authentic Mexican cuisine. Our group had the Giacamole and Salsa to start with one order of Tortilla Soup. The Guacamole was perfectly spiced but also Slightly creamy and amazing.
The main entries were Steak Fajitas (with perfectly cooked medium rare high quality steak), Chicken and Cheese stuffed Poblanos and Seafood and Chicken Enchiladas with fried plantains. Truly each dish was amazing. Our server, Rafael, and his team provided impeccable service throughout with just the right follow-up on ordering, refills, bringing additional house specialty sauces to try as well as the restaurant Management stopping near the end of our meal to check on the quality of our experience.
La Posada and their offering of top Mexican dishes was the perfect way to end our week of vacation. We’d highly recommend the...
Read moreWelcome to the hood La Posada! I came for a quick HH with my friend, take aways: -Free chips and salsa with 2 salsa types, a chunkier pico and something that looked liked a salsa roja, I'd personally have liked the salsa to be spicer but chips were fresh and hot
-Tuna Tostada - soo soo good, and a generous amount of tuna for the price for the area. The tuna is served on a thin bed of avacado puree and side taco shell, which, believe it or not, is not enough shell for the tuna, but you have those free aforementioned chips, so no problem
-HH! They haven't published the HH menu yet but as dictated to me, it is: Margarita Mon, Taco Tues (all $3), Wine Wednesdays ($5/glass - pour was generous for the cost/area), Mojito Thurs, Mimosa Fri, Sat Sun
Service was excellent. They are brand new and coming out of the gate being very thoughtful and caring. Mgmt chipped in to iron out some new business kinks with the attitude I saw, they are setting themselves up for success
-Cute interior, the bar stools have a nice back to the them, my only knock is that there isn't much clearance between the bottom of the bar and your legs. They have purse hooks under the bar, which is great
Can't wait to come back and try more, i had a really great...
