I visited Lebtav today and ordered the Chicken Shawarma, which, according to the menu, should come with lettuce, tomato, and garlic sauce. However, as you can see in the photo, the dish was served with lettuce and an overwhelming amount of pickles, which were not listed on the menu.

When I pointed this out to the staff, I explained that there was no mention of pickles in the description and that my order was missing the tomato. The response I received was both rude and dismissive. The staff member simply said, "It's like that; the menu is wrong," without offering any solution or understanding. I asked if I could either receive the dish as originally described, or if it was possible to either get my money back, exchange the meal, or even pay extra for the tomato. Unfortunately, the response was a firm "no" followed by the staff member walking away and ignoring us.

This level of customer service is unacceptable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue. I won't be returning, and I do not recommend this place to anyone who expects proper service and accurate menu...

I was excited to visit this place during my break, but my experience was deeply disappointing. While the food was decent and the venue was clean, the customer service was shockingly poor, and I can't help but wonder if my identity as a Black woman played a role in how I was treated.

On my first visit, I paid with Apple Pay, but the man at the register didn’t ring me up—an older lady did. When I tried to collect my food, he acted as if he hadn’t seen my payment and even suggested I was trying to steal my order. Despite showing my receipt, he continued to give off an attitude that was both embarrassing and uncomfortable.

During my second visit, I encountered another issue. I approached the register politely, only to have the lady snatch my money from my hand. When I pointed out that her behavior was rude, she just laughed it off. I felt belittled and disrespected, and I made the decision then and there that I will never return.

This establishment needs to seriously improve its customer service. No one should ever have to endure such treatment.

Your still a minority so respect...

UPDATE (2 years later): Still one of my favorite places to eat for lunch in the city!! Always great quality, great customer service and food is ready fairly quick! Highly recommend the Taverna Platter or Traditional Platter!!

————————————————————————

One of my FAVORITE spots for lunch! Food is reasonable priced and huge portions. I highly recommend the Taverna Platter so you can try a few sides, rice, plus the main meat of your choice--I LOVE their Chicken Shawarma!! The hummus, pita bread and kibbeh are DELICIOUS as well, better than most places in the area. The Traditional Platter is another good option too. Also, they do have salads, bowls and sandwiches if the platter is too much.

They have a small condiment bar, with different dipping sauces--the Garlic Toum is AMAZING and definitely gives the food more flavor! Food is prepared fairly quick--an ideal...
