Giving this review based on my opinion of the food and less so my experience at the actual brick and mortar location. Because that’s what I think is fair. When I was thinking of what I wanted for a quick dinner after work, this was not really on my radar. But I wasn’t really in the mood to give my money away to one of the big chains in CH Plaza which I knew would serve me some predictably below average grub. Having tried a few places on this block, I had pretty high expectations given a lot of the reviews. Let me just say that when I first walked in here, I had no idea what I wanted. It did not help that they didn’t have menu up explaining what they were serving. I also didn’t know the price, which turned out to be a bit more than I expected but still pretty reasonable ($17.90 for a plate and a soda) And given the quality of the food and flavors, totally worth it. So just be prepared to point and ask questions (in Spanish if possible) if you’re new like me. This is the main reason for 4 and not 5 stars. As a new customer, this place wasn’t super approachable, maybe that’s the intention I’m not sure. But I’ll keep coming back. Sorry to rant but now onto the food. I opted for the yellow rice with peas, sweet plantains, and ended up with a combination of stewed beef and pulled pork. Having smoked pork shoulder and brisket for hours in the past, I know the care and dedication that goes into making meat fall off the bone like that. It’s not an easy feat at all. If the meat you choose comes with the juices/sauce it was cooked in, please ask for extra sauce cause it’ll rock your world.

There are only 2 things that are consistent about Los Hermanos: The place will be filthy and you will be treated like trash. Other than that, nothing is ever the same. I go here about once a month. Sometimes I get a huge serving of meats/veggies for $13. Sometimes they barely fill the container and charge me $22. Sometimes the food is fresh. Sometimes the meat is dry and the rice (rice!) has oil pooling on top. Today for lunch I got a plate of rice, veggies, and quarter chicken. Not a ton of food. Cash register read $15 (already too much). I handed the cashier $20. Then he pressed a button and the total was $22.40 and said that it wasn't enough. I asked why it was so much. No answer. I asked again. He looked out the window ignoring me. So now he has my food and my money. I gave him the extra $3 and left. IF you decide to eat here, ORDER ONLINE. Don't expect the food to be ready when you get there (it won't), but at least its harder for them to take advantage of you.

Amazing food, great price, and do your homework before showing up. Stopped by for dinner to go on a Tuesday night around 7, I think just when they are about to pack up and close. Did some homework before arriving- checked out the online menu and read some recommendations on google. The menu online was pretty straight forward, you pick your rice, pick a side, and then pick your protein. Because we arrived close to closing time, the selection was limited and perhaps make it easier to choose. We picked chicken, beef, and one of three pork options that was available. The portions were very generous, they patiently answered our questions, and we enjoyed everything on our plate. Yes, get some extra gravy for rice because they are gold. Look forward to return and try different protein options!

Los Hermanos in Washington, DC, offers an extraordinary dining experience that truly stands out in the city’s vibrant culinary scene. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The décor is a perfect blend of modern elegance and traditional charm, with beautifully designed interiors that reflect the rich cultural heritage of Latin America. The ambiance is enhanced by soft lighting, tasteful music, and a friendly staff that goes out of their way to ensure every guest feels welcomed and comfortable.

The menu at Los Hermanos is a culinary masterpiece, featuring an extensive selection of authentic Latin American dishes that are both delicious and beautifully presented. Each dish is crafted with the freshest ingredients, and the flavors are bold and vibrant, offering a true taste of the region. The empanadas are a must-try, perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a savory mixture of seasoned meat and spices that burst with flavor in every bite. The ceviche is another standout, with its refreshing combination of fresh seafood, zesty lime, and a hint of spice, creating a dish that is both light and satisfying.

For the main course, the carne asada is exceptional, featuring tender, juicy steak that is expertly grilled and served with a side of flavorful rice and beans. The presentation is impeccable, and the portion sizes are generous, ensuring that you leave the restaurant fully satisfied. The seafood paella is another highlight, brimming with fresh shrimp, mussels, and clams, all cooked to perfection in a rich, aromatic saffron-infused broth. Each bite is a delightful medley of flavors that showcases the skill and creativity of the kitchen staff.

The drink menu at Los Hermanos is equally impressive, offering a wide range of cocktails, wines, and beers that complement the food perfectly. The margaritas are expertly crafted, with a perfect balance of tart lime and smooth tequila, while the mojitos are refreshingly minty and not too sweet. The wine list features a carefully curated selection of Latin American wines that pair wonderfully with the menu, enhancing the overall dining experience.

One of the standout features of Los Hermanos is the exceptional service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and the dining experience. They are more than happy to provide recommendations and answer any questions about the menu, ensuring that each guest has a personalized and enjoyable dining experience. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the service, from the prompt refilling of water glasses to the timely clearing of plates and the friendly, engaging conversation.

The dessert menu at Los Hermanos is the perfect way to end a meal, with a selection of sweet treats that are as delicious as they are beautifully presented. The tres leches cake is a standout, with its moist, creamy layers and just the right amount of sweetness. The churros are another highlight, served warm and crispy with a dusting of cinnamon sugar and a side of rich chocolate dipping sauce that is simply irresistible.

Los Hermanos also offers a variety of special events and themed nights, adding an extra layer of excitement to the dining experience. Whether it’s a live music performance, a cultural celebration, or a special tasting menu, there is always something new and exciting happening at the restaurant. This commitment to providing a dynamic and engaging dining experience is one of the many reasons why Los Hermanos stands out as a top choice for both locals and visitors to Washington, DC.

In conclusion, Los Hermanos in Washington, DC, offers an exceptional dining experience that combines delicious, authentic Latin American cuisine with outstanding service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Every detail, from the beautifully presented dishes to the carefully curated drink menu and the attentive, knowledgeable staff, reflects a commitment to excellence that ensures a truly memorable...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! This place is very busy even on a Sunday. The food looks better and smells better than it tastes. The meat is very dry no matter which type of meat you get with the exception of the stewed beef which is better but only by so much. This probably is the worst Dominican food I have ever tasted. I drove over an hour to get here and parking in the area is terrible unless you pay to park in a parking lot. I would not waste my time or money on this place. I spent $87 and this was a complete waste of my time and money. If the people in this area had tasted some of the Dominican restaurants in New York or New Jersey they would never want to eat from this place again. Anyway I can’t give this place more than one star and they don’t speak very good English either. So language is not only a barrier but because I was ordering several plates they served several other people who came in after me first and I had to wait well over 40 minutes for my food to be plated and prepared for takeout. AVOID AT...
