Mezcalero — Restaurant in Washington

Was told my debit card didn't work. Gave alternative credit card. Noticed few minutes after I left that both my bank and my credit card showed charges for the food. Returned and told the person of the issue. Right away she said no it was not processed twice and would not listen to me. This was despite showing her both my bank and credit card had the charge. I asked for receipt that showed my debit card was declined she said there was none. I told her there is always a decline slip. She said it was working on the machine, which made no sense. When I told her that clearly you have to see the two charges and I wasn't making it up she put her hands in my face and told me to not yell, which I wasn't yelling. Getting nowhere I left. My friend that I ate with said the same time happened to another friend he at with. Not surprisingly the money was taken out of my account and they also added an additional 16 dollars to my tab which I did not authorize. I visited this location today and was appalled by the customer service I received from one of the servers. It’s important to note that I frequent this location and live in the neighborhood. I arrived at a full bar and chose to order from the Happy Hour menu to go. I sat in one of the seats near the bar, awaiting my food and a friend. I noticed other people leaving the bar, so I attempted to secure the seats. To my surprise, one of the servers told me I couldn’t sit because another person was waiting for the seats. I expressed my concern and stated that an open bar operates on a first-come, first-served basis. However, he insisted that I give another customer the seat. I refused to sit and left the bar area to wait for my friend. I cannot put into words how this made me feel as others watched along. I confronted the server and expressed that he was wrong, but he handled me like I was the problem. I will never enter this establishment again.
