My husband and I were split between going to shep's or Pam's for our first breakfast in Washington. We decided to come here. The parking is not so very spacious because it just is off the road so you could come with the people in your family home but not a big birthday party type gathering which is fine as long as you know that upfront. Pam's give small town Southern diner as soon as you walk in the door. You're instantly going to see plenty of local faces which we took as a good sign that they were doing something right. The seating area consists of all wood booths and fixed table tops so if you are "expecting" or a bit firmer in the middle like we are, you might have to go with a stool at the small bar or the one table with two moveable chairs and a half booth. My friendly suggestion to ownership would be raising the table height some on booths 11&12 and sliding the booths a little further apart from one another along that wall where you've got about eight inches of dead space beside the register. This would accomodate a few of your clientele that just need a roomier booth. We sat directly behind a couple in a booth that was actually labeled COMPACT SEATING. This would be the converse but, that's just me. The food was delicious and came out after a bit of a understandable wait considering the crowd. Service was provided by two different servers who were helpful in getting things just right and answering the questions we had. We will be coming back when we are in the area and recommending your place to friends and family. They know their regulars by name. An older gentleman comes to gather the dishes and bus the table. This is where I think I discovered my favorite thing about Pam's. Their coffee cup "set" isn't really a set at all but rather a collection of eclectic mugs that just made me smile. Thanks for the...
Read morePamâs diner is a local spot for breakfast and lunch boasting an opening time from 6am to 2pm. Pamâs small menu holds old timey recipes and prices that may be a touch above the norm. The food however does not keep pace with the slightly above average prices. Eggs come unseasoned, the bacon is clearly bought pre-cooked and most of the breakfast menus other items follow the same stride. From flavorless sausages to unimpressive toast, you pay more for less here than I have eaten anywhere else in Washington. The larger problems stem from the numerous Microsoft word signs strung around the restaurant stating that âHoodies enter at own riskâ and âif you have a dirty mouth, leave it outsideâ to name a few. The oppressive signage really makes anyone under 50 seem unwelcome to a restaurant with cushion less wooden booth seats. Which are uniformly dirty. The restaurant is generally kept in a general state of cleanliness that varies from absolute neglect to simply dirty. From dust and dirt to most of the orange wood booths having turned black with filth, the 93 percent sanitation grade is a surprise to say the least. And the server Who worked my table may have been having and off day but most of my questions about the menu were met with âwe canâ or âyeahâ or an easy âI donât know.â It worked in tandem with the air of the environment to make me feel like I wasnât supposed to be there. All in all, Iâd have a hard time recommending Pamâs. Itâs beaten out as a breakfast spot by the Waffle House if hours and prices are a consideration and King chicken does the rest of Pamâs menu better with a better atmosphere and friendlier staff. Itâs a genuine shame I had to pay $25 dollars to figure this out and I hope to save the rest of you the time and aggravation. See ya Pamâs, pour out an instant...
Read moreWent to Pam's this morning which was nothing out of the norm. I actually visit quite often. This morning my order consist of corn beef hash 2 eggs wit cheese and hash brown. When I got home which is about 15 minutes away; discovered that my eggs had no cheese, my hash browns were burnt and corn beef looked like it was microwave warmed. I called back immediately. The owner Debra was not pleasant at all. She asked me what do you want me to do about your order. I took it back. Debra told me they were only going to fix my eggs and hash browns I then asked about her about the corn beef. She said they couldn't fix that. I have never gone to a restaurant & they didn't remake the whole plate.I asked Debra if she could just give my money back she tells me NO! I looked around there are no signs that state NO REFUND. So I was forced to pay for something that I wasn't pleased with. Clearly Debra(the owner) is burned out and has lack of consumer service skills. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN....
