It pains me to give Peets Coffee a poor review, since I have been a loyal fan for many years (parents were among its first customers in Berkeley!) and used to work as a barista for the company, but it’s precisely because I respect and love this coffee shop that I want to offer feedback so that it can retain the high quality it used to and hopefully will always have! I purchased today an iced hazelnut latte from this branch, and it was honestly undrinkable. The barista put the hazelnut syrup on the bottom of the cup, beneath the ice, so there was no way to properly mix it, and due to this it was syrupy sweet and just undrinkable. Furthermore, the delightful foam that is characteristic of Peets iced drinks was sloppily added on the top, instead of on the bottom Of the cup like I know we were trained to do when I worked at Peets. This is unacceptable for a $5 drink, and especially from the great original craft coffee shop of America! Come on, Peets, what’s happened to...

I wouldn't ordinarily leave a review for a spot I was grabbing and iced coffee and breakfast sandwich at on my way to work, but I was blown away by the service here this morning and it deserved a special shoutout! The shop was buzzing and the employees were clearly going above and beyond to serve everyone in a timely manner. The person at the register made sure to come find me while I was waiting, referred to me by name and asked if I needed to-go silverware. When my food was ready, another employee, personally handed it to me and walked me over to also get my napkins. My tricky iced coffee order was also made to perfection. All in all, this just really started my morning on a bright and positive note! Always lovely when a standard routine stop turns it such warm...
