I had stopped in at 7:59 am on 2/21/2024 to get sandwiches for a train trip. I saw on all the packages that with a Pret Club membership, you save 20% off full price. I thought this was a great deal. Love the food at Pret, though it turned out to not be a deal. Before buying my sandwiches, I enrolled in the Pret Club, made my purchase, showed the QR code for the discount, paid $39.50. I realized I didn’t get my receipt, went back, was told I had to ask for it. LAZY answer by Pret employee. Got the receipt, went back to my table and looked for the discount, and there was none. I went back again and asked why there was not discount. The employee said looking at my receipt that you have to front load $40/monthly to get the discount. Honestly I was angry as I wouldn’t have bought from here for the trip. FALSE ADVERTISING. As I was back at my table putting the sandwiches away, a 250 lbs Pret security person comes up to me asking questions. He was actually intrusive and I cut him off as he was crossing a formal line of how to interact with customers. The guard then started to question my traveling companion and I cut the guard off again as he had no business interacting with them as they didn’t make the purchase. The guard then started to infur he didn’t mean we were gay, and I this point it makes no difference what a customer is. I said to the guard we were leaving and regret having made the purchases at Pret. I send a message to Pret and Pret isn’t concerned about lying to customers when they show a lower price without fully disclosing how to get it. It was more concerned by the fact that their guard was interacting with us in a terrible manner. Look at Pret’s prices and a sandwich isn’t worth $11.00/US. Pret has lost a customer for life. I used to eat at all their locations globally. Great food, but false advertising and higher prices isn’t how they woo customers. Good bye you overpriced French...
Read moreI went to purchase a breakfast sandwich, but the cashier rang it up at fifty cents more the the sign said. When I mentioned this she said her price was correct. We went over to where the price sign was; she looked at the back and said it was an old sign, then removed both that sign and another. She said she would not sell it to me at the advertised price. That is deceptive. Who knows how many people are distracted and not paying attention to them charging a higher price than what is prominently displayed. Thankfully, since there are many other eating options in Union Station, I got my food elsewhere. If you patronize this place, be sure to watch that they don't overcharge you because the staff don't seem to understand the concept of false...
Read moreI went to pret a manger in union station for the second time in the last couple of months Sunday 8/22/18. The first time the bread for my sandwich was dry. So this past Sunday I opened the packet before I paid for it to check, it seemed OK, however after I had purchased a drink at another vendor and went downstairs to consume my Sandwich the bread was dry again!! I know that I should have gone upstairs to complain but I had just run 20 miles to get there and could not be bothered. I am originally from the UK and on every occasion the sandwiches have been far...
