In town visiting, and a security guard recommended this deli. The recommendation didn't disappoint! The line moved quickly, and my salad was AMAZING. Everything was fresh, and the salad topping options were endless. The only constructive comment is that no one spoke English preparing the food. Explaining to her what I would like on my salad took longer than usual.

The food was very good. However, The staff was still wearing masks and I could barely understand what they were saying. Especially because of language barriers. They were mumbling behind their masks. I ordered potatoes as side and they put the potatoes into my omlette, eventhough I communicated my order three times. Very odd.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat before visiting the African American History museum. The place was clean, the people were nice, courteous and helpful. We ordered 2 turkey sandwiches on a croissant and the amount of meat was sufficient and they had the cranberry ginger ale that we love this time of year.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews. Typically I try and find redeeming qualities about places that I don’t like, but I can’t bring myself to do it here. But there’s not much choice unless you wanna trek to Union Station metro.

The food needs salt, as in just a sprinkle to bring up the blandness level, not salt it to death. Dishes are not consistent in quality. One time I ordered a bagel and asked for it to be toasted and it was not. I ordered a burger once and it was so glance and dry. Their omelettes are not bad. Still need salt. Good selection of drinks though. Seating is comfy and spacious.

Now the anecdotal, just my own take. Take this with a grain of salt.

I told myself for a long time that it must be just me but it’s happened so often that it’s become a pattern: the kitchen staff here are… not friendly at all. And when I say “not friendly” I mean that they give off this judgy vibe. I don’t expect smiles and “sir” or “madam”, I actually hate that. I just want to it to be chill for everyone.

I don’t know how to describe it but there’s just this vibe of awkwardness and uneasiness in the pit of my stomach whenever I go there and have to place an order.

I know I may be reading too much into it but it just doesn’t sit well with me when I have to interact with the staff. The owners seem pretty chill tho. But maybe the working conditions and dynamic suck there, I don’t know, I just know that I almost dread going for food there lol.

But like I said, not a lot of choices around here for me, so it is what it is. Again, take this with a...

I had a pad experience at this place previously where they treated me as if I was some kind of diseased person I met one of my colleagues there for lunch and we ordered lunch and we wish to use the restroom to wash out Haynes they told us that the restroom was not available although we saw multiple pick customers and employees going in-and-out of the restroom finally I acts for the restaurant was broke they told me that the men's Room was broken and everybody was using the women's Room I told them that I saw men born in the so call 1 is Room and as per DC law that if the restroom only had 1 toilet it had to be unisex if it had more than 1 tall it it could be designated men or women reluctantly they gave me a key I was able to use the restroom I went there today unfortunately no other choice while to get a salad and the cashier treated me with disrespect I want to pay for my meal with a card she told me she only takes cash I tell her I just saw you take a credit card from the person in front of me and then she with a lot of attitude reluctantly agreed to accept my card I don't get it Phillips whoa never earn another dollar from me I think they are prejudice they stereotype their customers I am a black man and they show preference to...

Soup and Hot chocolate are great, however, this one lady, her attitude is terrible. She smiles for the white or Hispanic men, polite to them, everyone else look out! The lady that was behind me in line, she allowed her to just step up and she rung her up. The black man that was in front of me, she told him it was only one line and to move over there. I tried to explain to her those 3 people including that lady was behind me in line yet you took them, she said the lady asked her for soup, I said yeah and she was behind us. The lady didn't know who was where because she came from the back. Then she says I was talking to him not you, I told her I was making you aware, she told sighed and I said whatever lady. This was not my 1st encounter with her and her attitude, 3rd strike not going back to support...
