got wrong flavor AND wrong cone type. the wrong flavor was butter pecan so it would've been HORRIBLE if i had a nut allergy thank god i dont. i dont know how you can make a mistake like that. and i know it wasn't someone else's order because there was no other customers around and it was the same girl who took my order and handed it to me a minute later. she even repeated my order out loud right back to me after ordering and i confirmed. and then she still gave me a totally different flavor and different cone.

plus the butter pecan was very watery and hardly tasted like anything which i see a lot of other people saying in the reviews. honestly just tasted like pure water with a hint of vanilla. it sucked. and i was so excited all day to get ice cream from here too so that was sad. the only good thing was the quantity, it was a pretty big scoop but didnt really matter since i hated the flavor

another thing is it took me a minute to figure out where to pay because i didnt see a card reader, she just took my order and walked off while i held my card out for her and then i noticed the tiny slot in this tiny tablet which just isnt common nor intuitive for customers which i saw a couple other people saying so i feel like they could at least show the customer where to pay instead of just walking off or at least put a...

I went because saw their segment on CNN. I went today and drove from College Park. I got to the area around noon to coincide with their opening for the day and beat the crowds; well no such luck, but line wasn't that bad. It is a hot day 80°+ and parking was tough to find which seema to be typical to the area. What disappointed me is there is no online menu that I could coordinate with my sheltered family at home and my inability to capture good picture to due to the glare from my phone nor the glare on glare from the PPE barrier with the cashier. Nevertheless the milkshake and cup/cones ice cream I drove 14miles to get was delicious. While I had to wait a minute for the order fulfillment one of the sister/owners waited on me who was gracious and attentive to my concerns about transporting this precious cargo. The order was received home to rave reviews and a.promise to return...soon....

The customer service was terrible and my strawberry ice cream tasted like vanilla. So I live in California and I wanted to support this black owned business when I came to DC. I placed two orders. One order came out first. I waited about 10 minutes before I asked them about my second order meanwhile my first order had already melted. The owner told me that I was miss informed about the mango ice cream. It was mango shaved ice . So I asked the owner if she could remake my first order and she said no bcus it was already out of the window. She said no. Nevertheless, the customer service was terrible, they were all over the place with orders. Instead of folks getting both of their orders simultaneously, o e order was given and then someone else's order was given and then back to your order. I was better off going...

Wednesday Nights at the Wharf

I’ve been working my way through the Washingtonian’s list of ice cream spots in the city and got to this one. There was nothing wrong with it per se but also nothing exceptional. It was expensive for what it was and my root beer float was made with soft serve and not hand dipped ice cream which means it just turned into a creamy mess. (Some may like that hence the detail!) I ended up throwing half of it away. I used to work at the wharf and I see why I never made it here. The woman who helped me was friendly and speedy.

Southwest Soda Pop Shop is a cute outdoor ice cream and soda stand. Serving soft serve and scoop ice creams , floats, and sodas. A wonderful stop on the north end of the newly opened DC Wharf. Look closely for the shop since there is still a lot of construction. It is located on Maine Ave directly in front of the Seafood Market. There is ample bench seating under a shaded awning. It will be even nicer to visit once the construction is completed.
