Step-Childe Harold pub/bar — Restaurant in Washington

This is my go to bar, the staff always bring the energy, and make sure to take care of me. The bartender, Pearl, has my heart, and makes an excellent cocktail every time. Whenever I come in, I see her make drinks as fast as can be so everyone is taken care of immediately. The manager, Keanu, always makes sure to stop by and chat, great guy who really cares about his business and his customers. We came to this place 5 years ago and HAD to come back because we loved it.

The drinks are fantastic and the service is perfect.

My problem is it’s not the same place. It’s basically a Thai Restaurant now. They maintained the original name, which is nice, until you want to order; then it’s called Thaiverse DC. It doesn’t have the same vibe. It’s brighter. The stage is gone. It feels more “high end” for lack of a better description.

Not knocking it for what it is. It just isn’t my kind of dive anymore. 5 stars...

I love coming to the Stepchilde! The bartenders Keanu, Pearl, and Lynn are the best! They always take great care of me! I’m obsessed with the Drunken Noodles with Chicken. I get it almost every day.
