I had a breakfast burrito and steak quesadilla on Saturday at opening. Bartender was Erin. I was not greeted, or offered a menu. I had to pick a menu myself from the host's area/entrance. This review is not for the food, but more so my experience with the service with my particular bartender, Erin, and the response by the general manager, Devon. It took about forty minutes for my meal and about thirty of that was waiting for food, or waiting for Erin to take my order. I was checked on once (how is your food) when I asked Erin for extra sauce for my quesadillas. In the entire forty minutes, neither bartenders, or any employee checked up on my water. If I remember correctly, I had to ask the male bartender and Erin, for water twice per person (total 4x). I told the GM, Devon exactly what I posted above and said it was the worst bar experience I had in Arlington or DC. Devon said she was "sorry" and claimed that it was unusual for the two bartenders who were currently working at the time. Devon said sorry about four times and then gave me the impression of what more do you want from me and stop wasting my time. Devon told me to give them another chance another day. Devon did not offer to comp anything (not that I asked) on a $30 brunch. Devon never said she would talk to the bartenders or get them better trained. To be honest, I'm not surprised by the response considering Devon and the other employees were chatting it up most of the time at the end of the bar (near the kitchen entrance) I was there. If the owner or upper management sees this review I am curious what the response will be. I'm sure you can look at the video of the bar area yourself and confirm this. I talked to a friend who has been a bartender for a few years and she said it is probably just a bad business based on the service and GM response. Take that however you want. Might as well just get burritos at Chipotle if you're in Dupont. What a waste of time.

First, Mission is an anathema among Mexican restaurants: Chips and Salsa are NOT included. That's $3.50, and it's served with your dinner, so it gets eclipsed by your meal. Which is easy, since the salsa isn't great; it tastes weirdly sweet-- "Like Progresso Spaghetti Sauce," said my dining companion. Service wasn't great. To her credit, our server did bring waters quickly, but that's where being impressed ended. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, and yet our table only got 2 menus for 7 people. If we were checked on more, we probably would have ordered quite a few more drinks. The queso fundido was the best thing there. My dining companions couldn't finish their burritos and enchiladas, they disliked them so much. They only had ranch dressing for their salads, which were lackluster-- I've had better at massive chains known for being subpar. The chips were mostly gone by the end of the meal, but the salsa remained. The last time I was here (prepandemic), they didn't have many vegetarian options, and now they added mushrooms as an optional "protein" to add to your meal, which was great in theory, but not all vegetarians like mushrooms. (This is specific to one of my friends, but she's not the only vegetarian in town)

On the plus side, I like the vibe in here. And my waitress was very nice. I ordered a burrito and I like the way I used to be able to get burritos when I lived in the San Francisco Mission District, which is wrapped in foil. So you tear apart the foil and you eat your burrito and it doesn’t get terribly messy. I love it. So I said I want to eat my burrito here, but please wrap it in foil like it’s take away. So when they served it, it was wrapped in foil, but it was cut in half and there were lots of little shredded bits of foil in there that I had to pick out. But really the problem is that for some reason they don’t put the lettuce or the jalapeño peppers or the salsa or the sour cream in the burrito. They’re all on the side. As you can see in the photo. So I guess I’m supposed to dip my burrito in those? That doesn’t make any sense. If they just put everything inside the burrito where they belong, I would probably give them a much better rating. But for some reason, they gave me a deconstructed burrito. I probably should’ve sent it back and told them to start over and do it right, but I don’t like to waste food and also I didn’t have time.

Went to Mission DuPont last night for the margarita day menu and had a terrible experience. Every single thing we ordered was brought out incorrectly if it was even brought out at all and the server and manager we interacted with were rude and unhelpful. My friend ordered a drink while she was waiting for me to arrive, and the server (Emily) had to come back to ask again what the order was because she forgot. When I arrived I ordered a drink from the special menu. I waited close to 30 minutes for my drink before the server even came back to our table. When she came back we asked about my drink and ordered a pitcher of a regular margarita from the specials menu and some food. Several minutes pass and we get the pitcher and it’s not the type of drink we ordered. We waited again for quite some time before our server returned to try and correct the mistake. When she finally got to the table and we explained the error, she was trying to tell us it’s what we ordered and we couldn’t have been more clear about what we originally asked for. She assured us that we wouldn’t be charged for the error and they would honor the special rate. Assuming it would be corrected, we started to drink from the pitcher. Minutes later, a manager comes to the table. We explained to him what happened and he said they would have to charge the full price for their mistake but they could give us additional drinks, we didn’t want that and he said he would try to correct it in their system. He was dismissive and rolled his eyes as he walked away from our table. At that point we were ready to get our food so we could eat and leave. We were still waiting for food as tables near us who sat down after we ordered were already receiving their meals. My friend tried to get our servers attention, and minutes later she put the check on our table and walked away. When we looked at the receipt, she never entered our food order and there were more errors in the drinks she entered on the bill. We got the manager to come and again explained the error and he was again unhelpful. We settled the bill, finished the drinks and left as quickly as we could. We initially wanted to give grace for the mistakes because it was a busy night, but the repeated errors and disrespect from employees quickly changed that. I will not be patroning the establishment...

I came to this place twice (yesterday and today). The food here is really good and the environment and the outside space they have is an added bonus. I really hate to leave bad reviews but I will try to be fair: I came yesterday and after being seated I was told I have to leave my card to "open the tab". I was surprised and told the guy I'm not ordering drinks and I'm by myself but still he said I had to give him a card. I said "sure, no problem", assuming this is the restaurant's policy. I asked the tables around me, no one was asked to leave their card. The food was really good so I thought of forgetting this tiny detail and go there again to enjoy the food.

I went today and I was received by this girl, who told me I cannot set outside because they have so many reservations. I asked if she can check if it would be possible to set outside or see around if someone is leaving but she insisted that I cannot set outside as they have full reservations. She took me inside, left me in a room by myself, the AC was blowing on my face and I can see that tables are empty outside. I had to wait and wait, hoping that someone would pass by so I can ask them if they can move me. No one was there. You're in this cold room by yourself. I had to get out, find the manager and show her that I'm not happy with the situation and I would like to set outside. Apparently, there was seating available. To be fair, she was nice and quickly tried to move me outside. The guy who took my order was also nice and apologised for what happened. Again, no one asked to leave my card or "open the tab". I understand that they care about larger groups and larger would tip more but still treating a customer in such way was not very courteous. The last thing you expect going to a restaurant is to be thrown in a freezing room by yourself. I had to tell the guy who serviced my table that I would not be writing down a tip on the bill and I would like only to tip him for his service

In general a nice place, really good food but if you're a guy by yourself don't expect to be received with care especially by the guys at...

I absolutely despise being a nuisance to servers and staff in general. I understand the stress and constant work flow of restaurants, and the standard is fairly relaxed when it comes to myself. Stuff happens, I get that completely.

This, however, was not one of those times where I can let it slide.

We were seated immediately and given menus. The location was nice, the tables were nice, and I was very much looking forward to a good time. We were patient in waiting for a server. 5 minutes... 10 minutes... 20 minutes.... 30 minutes... 45 minutes... A couple times I tried to get servers attention and I was stared at before they walked away. A simple "Hey, excuse me, but..." and I got deer in headlights reaction.

I finally walked up from and asked in a semi jokingly manner "Did you forget about us?" And the response I got was "OH. WHERE ARE YOU SITTING?" and I pointed. A server came over and explained they "didn't know who was going to take our table, so sorry about that." 45 minutes.

We ordered drinks, and she disappeared. 10 minutes later they arrive, by someone else, and she returned about 10 minutes after that. She asked if we wanted to put in an app, 1 hour after sitting, and we did. Before I could tell her that we wanted after the queso, she was already trying to run away. I called her over and politely said we'd like to order our main course. She wrote it down and left.

15 mins later our app arrived and 5 minutes after our food. The queso was good, but our burritos were so extremely bland and wrapped in raw, cold tortilla. We ate, and waited for our bill, or literally any human being to come over. We sat for 40 minutes waiting for anyone to return, so I walked up front and asked for the bill. We received it, but my debit card, which was taken for a tab, was not. We explained we had cash and we were going to hand her the cash and bill. She did not return, and I had to retrieve my card and pay the bill to the wait staff at the front so I could leave.

This was.... An experience I won't...
