IA&A at Hillyer — Attraction in Washington

My experience attempting to host an event at IA&A was disappointing. They failed to honor online prices. Communication challenges persisted, with weeks passing without a definitive response and the gallery director displaying untimely responses. To make matters worse, the director's discriminatory behavior is unacceptable. International Arts & Artists at Hillyer, formerly Hillyer Art Space. small gallery. supporting contemporary artists with a diverse range of interests. Last visit May 12. 3 artists presenting 3 totally different styles and philosophies. One draws on foil and also exploring maps with a migration theme. one exploring the nasties within himself and expressed on paper and ceramics. one using bold color and strokes with impressions of events. worth a visit. exhibits change frequently. be prepared to look for...

Tried to host an event at IA&A. They don’t honor the prices listed online. They tried charging 4 times what’s listed on their site for a 4-hour event.

I couldn’t get a definitive yes or no for weeks. The gallery director doesn’t read or respond to emails in a timely manner. I finally got a price 4 times higher with a suggestion to host at the Mexican Embassy???

Highly recommend hosting elsewhere instead of overpaying for two...
