What a little gem! It can be hard to find GOOD salads that are also actually healthy. If you want superfoods, or light, HOUSEmade dressing, this is your jam. I also love how they list their suppliers on a chalkboard.
The drinks are really tasty as well, and the staff are always really great. I mean great. Finding employees that give a crap in DC is not easy. I walk around getting mumbled at by people who act like I've just asked them to climb everest when i ask them about a menu item or where something is. Take Whole Foods across the street...horrible staff. Now I must say, i LOVE Whole Foods, I go there 3x per week for groceries and salads from their salad bar. I'm not going to anymore now that I've been to this place. I'd rather be served a nice salad or meal at SweetGreen without the attitude of the Whole Foods staff. SweetGreen makes you feel like you're stopping in to visit friends. I like that.
The ONLY thing i will say, is that their bacon can be quite hard, to the point where i can't even chew it because it hurts my teeth...might want to be careful with that.
Ps. I just read other reviews after i posted mine - not sure what staff were rude to them, but mine are awesome and i usually go in evenings or towards...
Read moreI have been going to Sweetgreen for many years. I was so in love with their salads that I was asked to be part of a program for their marketing team to try out a salad each month (they’d pay me) and I’d review it). So it is safe to say that I have a lot of love for this restaurant. This was my first time at this particular Sweetgreen, however. I went around noon on a weekday and it wasn’t too busy. The person who made my salad wasn’t particularly friendly (didn’t smile much). I asked for a guacamole greens no onion. They are supposed to ask if I wanted to substitute anything for onion, he didn’t. He barely put any mesclun in the bowl. Now, this is my issue with the new bowls: they barely fill them up. I get a significant less amount of salad with them. That’s pretty bogus since I’m paying close to $10 a salad. I asked for more lettuce politely and he rolled his eyes and mumbled under his breath. I asked for medium dressing, he gave me light. I then asked for dressing on the side, since I felt like I was bothering him asking for more. Overall, not a great experience. Felt like they were just trying to push you out and not much attention given to...
Read moreI came in here this afternoon because my body was craving for some real healthy food. I had been to a previous location, but zi still wasn't sure about what to order. After checking the menu, I decided to go for the Buffalo Chicken Salad. This thing included blackened chicken, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and a bunch of other ingredients that are too numerous to mention here. They prepared the salad in under one minute, and I quickly realized that there was nowhere to sit. I mean literally nowhere to sit. Some of the other restaurants close by at least had a couple of tables set-up outside. Not this place. They had a single table with a single chair situated near the front entrance. It wasn't a huge deal, and I decided to just bring the food to my apartment and eat it there. I'm used to eating at home anyway. The salad had a medoly of different flavors, and my body was loving me for making the...
