A friend of mine brought me along to see a show here & I've been hooked ever since, including helping out as a volunteer (or "operative", as they're called) with keeping the shows running. It's great fun to watch & just as much fun to help out behind the scenes. There are a couple dark months throughout the year, but in general there are house groups performing consistently, including iMusical: the Improvised Musical. FIST is an improv tournament in spring- a great time to see some less-experienced groups early on; and the cream of the crop toward the end. Improvapalooza runs later in the year & is my favorite- groups just try out any zany idea: they don't always work, but usually they're extremely entertaining or I can at least admire the creativity. I have never seen improv this bad before. They weren’t doing comedy. They were doing DRAMA and it was so weird.
